Aren't those the contact grenades ?

If so, it makes sense that this would be a no, because if you don't throw them, they won't contact anything.

Only one way to find out! :cozyroe:

So I tried it in creative mode. Red contact grenades DO NOT explode in your hand. What's more surprising is that regular timed grenades DO NOT explode in your hand, either! You can safely pull the pin whenever you want - it doesn't matter. If you change your mind, just switch to something else. The pin seems to be there mostly to look cool, and make you feel stupid if you forget to pull it. :steamhappy:

Do pipe bombs still blow up in your hand?

They certainly should. Although I don't know for sure if they do.

Grenades don't blow up in hand due to the pressure arm thing that you have to hold to pull the pin out. Unless you let that arm up, it won't even 'cook' in your hand. The pipe bomb in 7DTD however is a lit fuse; It -should- burn down in your hand if you dont throw it. Go test it :D

Yes they do. I just tested it in my test world. Lost a couple of fingers.

Exactly. Pulling a pin from a grenade doesn't necessarily activate it. That big lever has to also be released to start the fuse. So it doesn't really start cooking until after you release the lever, generally done upon throwing. Though it does depend on the model of grenade too. Not sure the old German stick grenades had such a feature.

I'm guessing the function would have been, don't twist it/activate it until you want to "cook" it.
