We want the old theme sound back!
No one else leaves the current theme on, it was a satisfaction to open the game in the old days, today everyone hangs up because the sound is not good, please! return the old theme sound ;-;
I love this game! <3

It would be interesting to know the real story of all this.

The 28 Days Later theme, "In the House - In a Heartbeat", was written by John Murphy in 2002 or earlier, and has been used in various remixes or arrangements in movies, video games, tv shows and commercials. The 7DtD theme, Cinematic Suspense, was written by JJ Gomez in 2012. There is no mention of this being a remix of John Murphy's work. Perhaps Gomez had heard it and was influenced by it, maybe subconsciously. I think the rumors of copyright claims over Murphy's song are just from people who think they sound similar.

What I've read, and seems the most likely, is that the menu music was changed because although TFP had licensed it for the game, youtubers who were posting gameplay videos which included the music were getting copyright claims, and so TFP changed it basically for them and better PR. Even now if you do find the original music on youtube, the ad revenue goes to the studio, not the youtube account holder. A popular 7DtD youtuber, who likely would have gotten such a claim, commented about this.

The old theme had copyright problems because it was too similar to the copyrighted soundtrack of some movie. They had to change it for this reason.

My suggestion: if you really want that back, turn music off, and leave your music player playing that song in the background on repeat. :yay:

Which is especially funny because those same tones that they found in violation are in four or five other songs out there. Some of which have existed quite a bit longer than this game.

you talking about the main Menu theme correct I haven't opened the game in awhile so wasn't aware they removed and changed anything when it came to soundtrack?

That’s pretty presumptuous to speak for everyone, Coelhudo. I think with the current theme, they somehow managed to blend the feel of two of the earlier main menu tracks they had.

I turn the music setting entirely off in this game (and most games). :steammocking:

It is a nice theme...putting the YT videos, on loop, as mentioned, would work fine if one likes it that much. Myself, I don't use menus as my screensaver or a music player.

that's the problem, instead of removing the music why not put a good one? in reference to the old 7 days to dies

changed yes, you can look at the comments, I know it may have been copyright, but they could put one that makes reference, not exactly the same..

only way to remember the origins of the game, exactly because most players remove the music, I would like them to change, and could refer to the origins of 7 days to die

Just curious how you came by this glorious piece of information? Polls, surveys, wtc.

The only thing I did with the menu music is turn the volume to 25%. I actually like the instrumental theme of the game a lot (even if it is a bit too loud). I think it fits the theme of the game very well.

If you want different in-menu music, you can mute it an play your own. Problem solved. No one else is experiencing your problem (see what I did there? ha ha).

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it a bit more. The in-game music has a slight Last of Us vibe to me, which I really like. It's the simplicity that makes it work well.

nor should I answer it, but in this case, I have already played on several accounts with my friends, and several servers, all of them on call with about 4 to 6 people, and guess what they did when they started the game? they removed the music, always that story "where does the music take from?"
