Man I sure am sick of Room Setup.

Added my comment to your thread. Personally all I'm asking for is an option off the right click menu. There is an option for 'tutorial' which you only use once, why not an option for 'calibrate floor' which you have to use every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time you start SteamVR?
My play area is spot for the medium room so it's great for me.
Yeah that doesn't work for anything other than a default room size. It wipes your room setup data when you use that button.
1. Turn off feature to turn off controllers on SteamVR exit.
2. Start SteamVR with the controllers on.
3. Swirl the controllers around the room to initiate tracking whatevers.
4. Place the controllers trackpad face down on the floor in the best tracked area.
5. Close SteamVR.
6. Start SteamVR.
If you leave the controllers too long on the floor before you start SteamVR in step 6 you'll have to go back to step 3.
Please note that just having the controllers on for step 2 is not enough for some reason.
So it looks like SteamVR does look for controllers to calibrate floor when it starts up, however if the controllers have lost tracking (which happens in my large environment because the trackers aren't aimed directly at the floor) then it seems to make a guess which is almost always 6" above or below the actual floor. I find this funny because it's almost always exactly 6" in the wrong direction.
I think it has something to do with how large the space is. If you have quite a large space than your lighthouses can't be pointed directly at the ground or you'll affect tracking for other areas.
