SteamVR addons blocked/Headset not detected
Hi everyone. I start SteamVR and get the message "Due to a recent crash, some SteamVR addons have been blocked". Below that message, I have a "Headset Not Detected (108) Fault".

I have so far:
-Clicked on 'Manage Add-ons" button - it opens a window showing "Please Connect a Headset" and nothing else (no way for me to play around with the settings then).
-Tried various different USB ports - no change
-Multiple headset restarts - no change
-Multiple computer restarts - no change
-Device manager - multiple monitors showing up - deleted the extra ones - no change
-Deleted SteamVR and reinstalled - same issue comes up
-Deleted all SteamVR and Vive software and reinstalled as if a new first time installation - same issue comes up
-Tried Developer Settings "Enable/Disable Direct Display" - no change
-Tried Developer Settings "Remove All USB Devices"/reinstalling SteamVR - no change

on occasion "SteamVR runtime is out of date" message shows up as well.

I thought this was all fixed in 1.10.28

Any suggestions??? Would be highly appreciated.

The funny thing is everything was WORKING PERFECTLY 2 hours ago. It crashed when I started Xplane11 and since then has been like this.

Thanks for any leads.

***SOLUTION*** As mentioned by user 'Ozagro', the only thing left to do was to uninstall Steam itself.

I uninstalled SteamVR, uninstalled Vive applications, and then finally uninstalled Steam. Then restarted my PC and went about installing all these things again (starting with Steam).

That's it, it all works perfectly again, go figure.

There's another solution, which worked for me.

I followed this guide to uninstalling Steam VR, and that solved the problem stated by the OP above.

Here's what's in that link:

1. Completely close Steam and SteamVR.
2. Navigate to each path and delete the following files:
a. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings\default.vrsettings
b. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.vrsettings
c. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\lighthouse\lighthousedb.json

Then Uninstall steam VR! You can do so with the following instructions:
1. Right click the SteamVR tool from the Steam Library and select Unistall
2. Follow the on screen prompts to complete the uninstallation of the SteamVR tool.

(important) Make sure to delete any leftover files in the installation directory by deleting the contents in the folder “SteamVR”
The default path for that folder would be:
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR"

then Re-install SteamVR

@Fragarach - Thanks so much for this, after a lot of messing around this worked first time.

@Fragarach - thank you, this helped me too!

My Monitors wouldn't show up in the overlay anymore and after trying @Fragarach's suggestion it started working again. That's the perfect way to do a "clean VR install" without reinstalling the entire Steam software.

I Got the same issue. Almost makes you think steam is bias becouse from running to suddendly not working is abit odd. If it isnt just s compatability issue.
But who knows. I Dont think steam promotes high end headsets for free. But it would be pretty stupid to opress low end solutions that also profit other markets.
Only time will tell by the problem beeing solved. If not that should speak for itself.
I Dont trust anything today that envolves money but it should become obvious within time.
