Report a translation problem
I uninstalled SteamVR, uninstalled Vive applications, and then finally uninstalled Steam. Then restarted my PC and went about installing all these things again (starting with Steam).
That's it, it all works perfectly again, go figure.
I followed this guide to uninstalling Steam VR, and that solved the problem stated by the OP above.

I Got the same issue. Almost makes you think steam is bias becouse from running to suddendly not working is abit odd. If it isnt just s compatability issue.
But who knows. I Dont think steam promotes high end headsets for free. But it would be pretty stupid to opress low end solutions that also profit other markets.
Only time will tell by the problem beeing solved. If not that should speak for itself.
I Dont trust anything today that envolves money but it should become obvious within time.
