4th Base Station, Room setup shows it in the wrong place??
I was confused as to why my 4th base station wasn't fixing a dead zone. I redid room setup and finally realized that once the 4th was added, one base station is just off into a non-existent part of the room.

I checked that each channel doesn't interfere with one another, or my router. I checked for reflective surfaces, none. Blinds are closed. Firmware updated.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Does all of your base stations have the eye symbol in the Base Station 2.0 Channel Configuration page of the settings? That would indicate they are / have been in use with your setup.

Base station power management goes quite long distance and through walls, so there is a chance that your neighbour's base station is there in the list. I got a Big surprise in one project when I set up 4 base station tracking and SteamVR found 5 base stations (all different serials) :D I accidentally stole one base station from other person.

Yep, all base stations have an eye. There is no chance that there is a competing neibors base station, as I live in a house in middle of nowhere.

It's extremely strange. Even unplugging the 4th base station, during room setup I now get this bug where a base station seems to gravitate to a wall somewhere else in the room.

Is it possible you got anything reflective that is tricking it to think its somewhere else?

I've covered the only reflective surface I've had since I started VR last summer. still no change. Never had reflective issues before.

huh! weird.
I uninstalled OVR, and turned off all the lights. seems to have put them back in their place. I'll see what happens, I havn't finished set up yet

Wouldn't be the first bug with OVR. Sometimes it bugs up and messes all. I have been using the github version, but it had on audio bug. Recently I tried the steam version and got immediately problems recognizing headset, but that went away after I removed OVR and reinstalled SteamVR. Great app, but it has quite bad error handling and bugs usually have weird side effects.

so strange still. Feel like adding a 4th base station has just flat out made my tracking worse.
Just played a rapid song on beatsaber to stress test, and every now and then the left saber will simply jitter/fly, making me miss 1-3 notes.

Really frustrated.

I'll try uninstalling steamvr, and see where that gets me.

Full clean uninstall of steamvr, fpsvr, and OVR, (and deleting every single file with 'SteamVR' associated with it) seems to have finally resolved the visual bug.

Guess it will be a matter of time to stress test it.

I had the same issue, found this thread, and noticed the "reflective" comment.

I had my window blinds up, and the certain Base Station that was showing up in random spots was facing these windows. I close the blinds, and the base station now shows in the correct spot that if physically is in.

Look for glass, highly reflective surfaces, large metal surfaces, and cover them up with a sheet or something to see if it helps.

hope it does.

All base stations do is emit light. They are pretty much just an expensive laser emitting device which is why they are also called “lighthouses” by htc. your controllers receive the light and triangulates based upon the position. If you have too many base stations you likely will have conflict with the IR signals that have the capability to cancel each other out if not done right.
