SteamVR/OculusStore Performance Difference?

Is there any noticeable difference in playing a game purchased from Steam compared to the same game from the Oculus Store? I'm sure it depends on the game and the system specs, but I'm more just looking for a generalized answer. Also curious about what would be the contributing factor for offsetting the (potential)lag, CPU or GPU?

If you must pick between them, Oculus store doesn't force an overlay on you. If you are on quest link, you are now running 2 overlays with both dash and steamvr. If you run virtual desktop via quest, you can run only steamvr and not dash instead of both.

If you are on a rift s or something, oculus store is the way to go for playing, since it's not quite as heavy, but purchasing is obviously better on steam if there has to be that choice too.
