SteamVR
Can you still use Oculus DK1 with SteamVR?
Hi, I found a cheap ebay listing for a DK1 for £50 ($63) and figured it would make for a decent entry point for VR. Of course I don't expect most stuff to work as it's no longer supported but I assume there must be some basic apps and games that work. I heard that W10 doesn't support itt very well either but it supposedly works with Oculus runtime 0.8.0.0. Honeslty I'd just be happy if there's a video player out there that supports it.

Should I buy one? Seems like at that price it could be okay.

I will really not recommenced it
DK1 is like the mobile VR, but think its res is even worst

You better off i think just waiting, newer cheaper VR will come later

(Only 360 on it, no room scale tracking at all)

I recommend to wait even longer, its not going to take too long till you be able to get a light house tracknig headset with a cheap price

BTW what phone do you have?

Moto X Play, which doesn't have a gyroscope so thats a no go for VR. I think I might consider upgrading to a daydream compatible phone next year but I'll wait and see how that turns out.

With how the light house system work i think its likely you will soon be able to get a lighthouse with a tracking 2.0 tracker, stick it on a cardboard (or what ever) and use that as a headset... in one way or other...
That is what i am saying abut waiting, best wait then jump in too fast :D:
just for the record, I use the dk1 on steam vr and yes it works well, ( low res and not pos tracking aside) but yeah it is a very limited exprience with controls or movement tracking. I'm trying to see if i can hook up some ps move controls with it to change that but at the ned of the day, lack of support and eye straining low res make it a losing battle
