This is a bug that Valve added to the Steam client on Retina machines. If you contact Feral support we have a workaround you can try in the meantime before Valve fix it.
Following [GOL] Liam's advice - yep, recommendations on Gaming On Linux are being followed - I bought COH 2 two days ago.
But, alas, I can not save. First mission Russian campaign, trying to save after 5 mins (and earlier, and later), saving-window pops up, I enter a name for save-game, click on 'save' => crash to desktop. The very same did happen when I tried saving during a randomly picked single-player match, crash to desktop again.
Please note: I do not have saving-issues with other games I am running via native steam under Ubuntu, such as 'Divinity Original Sin' (I, I enhanced, 2 beta - saved a hundred times!) or 'The Dwarves' (the same).
My specs are:
Linux native steam under
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64 Bit
Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz × 4
16 GB RAM
AMD Radeon R9 380 Series
AMD GPU-PRO Beta Driver 16.20.03
Otherwise the game is running fine, cut-scenes, menus, fps-wise etc. The only other issue I encounter is that it also fails to launch when I start it via the desktop-icon (hear opening scenes sounds while the screen is remaining blank except for some artifacts).
Launching COH 2 out of the steam library on the other hand does work.
Thanks for your assistance & kind regards
Magutte
Please contact Feral support using the instructions in this thread and we can investigate, it's likely something with the home directory location or file formatting that is causing a problem given your issue is with saving.
Where is the changelog?
Hi, this was just to solve an issue with deployments, so there isn't anything new to report in a changelog. Just a tidy-up :)
maybe file formatting that is causing that?
