Because it is illegal in Europe.
Technically it is not banned in Germany, it is only outlawed when used as a symbol of unconstitutional groups (which includes Nazis) – it can be used by Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples – this is the case in some other European countries.
I know it is banned in Poland where you can get up to 8 years prison for using it and also banned in Russia. I do not know how they deal with the whole hindu thing..
Nazi symbols are forbidden in countries such as Germany and Russia. They can only be used in art or education(eliminating your "those who don't know history" argument).
Soviet symbols represent Communism which is far from misanthropy. Nazi symbols represent a misanthropic attitude, thus promoting violence and killing. It's mainly about the ideology of the symbols, not the men behind them.
Yes. I know a case where somebody had swastika flags in his flat ( which is NOT illegal in Germany ) but for some reason the Police entered his flat ( there was an incident a fight or something ) and then arrested him for having swastikas because they said, when the Police enters the flat, and they see it, it has the same effect as when you make it public. So yeah, they arrested him for making a swastika public.
Kind of weird, but right! I think everyone who hangs up swastika flags whether in his flat or somewhere else should be arrested.
VCoH's German announcer is the same guy who voices German announcements in RO2. Such a boss voice :)
I don't think so. The Germans in CoH have some sort of Czech or Polish accent. The German soldiers in RO2 does not have any form of accent, it's perfectly clear German spoken by a real German native speaker.
No, every German military troop used the Swastika. Even the Wehrmacht had a Swastika on it's helmet. Only the SS did not use the swastika on uniform except on medals. They had the SS insignia on their helmets.
I think similar about it. It's just a symbol. It's fine to ban every form of nationalsocialism, but it should be allowed to use swastikas in games. I mean, in the UK it is totally legal to carry a swastika where you want it in public. Sure, people will look weird at you. But it is not forbidden by law. I mean in movies it is allowed too, so why not in games.
Only the US version of Wolfenstein has the swastika in it. And no, the communists did not kill more people than the nazis.
