M1 57mm anti-tank gun sucks
Every shells hit the armor bounced back! Bazooka is still a joke. So a panther coming out is equal to the USF is defeat and the Germans win when 1v1. Good job:)

I love LOVE the 57MM. Not only is it better in every way then a Bazooka but it has the best range of any AT in game and further its cheap as hell.

The ROF is so good it can afford to bounce. The problem isnt the 57MM its the Panther having better armor then the Tiger thats the problem. If it could Pen a Panther it would LEVEL Tigers and King Tigers and they could do nothing about it. Because its range and ROF and how cheap they are.

So for example I could just build a 57MM wall and no heavy tanks could be used...even though a pair of them are barely more expensive then an Obersoldaten.

So yes it will bounce on a Panther alot. Problems with the Panther not the gun.

Try hitting the panther from the side. works way better

Yep thatll give you about 20% chance to hit the rear hit box. Since there is no side armor in game and the Panther hit box is 80 front 20 rear last i heard.

I dont see why this hate against the 57mm...
Just today i has destroyed one kingtiger with 1 57mm and 3 zooks. Yes, it takes some time, lot of micro and some losses, but they are worth.

Fact is it WAS crappy against the frontal armour of heavy German tanks, even with the discarding sabbot rounds invented by the Brits. The only T gun that the axis trully feared was the Brit 17 pounder with its discarding sabbot round. If you want realism the game weapons have to perform as they did in reality.

It's light years better than the raketenwerfer. God I hate that thing, tier 1 be damned.

chfcoach.

Balance has to trump realism. Because the Game engine cannot properly model Allied forces without them being OP.

Example:

Tigers ONE SHOT SHERMANS! Yet there were enough Shermans where the USF could take it. Thus you would see 6-10 Shermans per Tiger. Imagine all the modesl the game engine needs to calculate. Your Video card couldnt handle it. Your infantry couldnt cope so it would have to be larger scale. Now COH2 is supreme commander etc etc etc.

The tools provided in the game need to work at their intended roles or they need to model an Allied Economy properly. Not to mention the lack of German munitions due to their logistics being largely Horse Drawn and constantly strafed by Superior USF Airpower.

True that. After they fixed the Vet bug that allowed it to one shot Medium tanks....

Its got nothing to do with the game engine. My mod puts the German heavy tanks at 25 population per tank and my Shermans 5. Ive had games with twenty shermans and only two german heavy tanks. Nothing wrong with that. AND my allies have access to far higher resources off the caches 15:1 in fact. As realistic as modding will allow as yet. now if the game engine allowed for mechanicle failure, those German heavy tanks would be stationary 25% of the time.

Now add that to a 4v4 and watch what happens to the Min requirements of the game.

Mine 57mm failed to kill a SC 3 times.....always missed :P

Then it got one-shotted by a tiger

Fair enough point. At least better resources would help and faster tank production to make up for the lack of numbers.

I had one firing on an immobilized Tiger Ace. It took a while to kill it, but when it got to vet 3, it was penning the Ace from the front with every shot, without the bonus from its ability.

Small Target size FTW! Gotta love RNG.

Yep! Everytime, unless of course you manage to get an AT Nade and crit. And circle it with multiple tanks, and are able to dodge Pak-40 rounds and Panzershrecks...

Allies have to jump through hoops to tackle most German tanks. That's the problem.
