How Do You Use Airborne Pathfinders?
I've been getting a lot of use from airdropping the newly-buffed MGs and AT guns, and I've been using paratroopers to replace any lost rifle squads, but I still can't quite get to grips with the pathfinders. Are they best used sent out ahead of the main force as scouts/spotters? Mine seem to get shot at before I can get them in place. and I end up retreating them before I can get any use out of them.

Any ideas, gentlemen?

They make good (but expensive) weapon crews, as they essentially spot for themselves. Other than that, double BARs or just for recon/beacons and light AI support with the snipe crit.

Pathfinders are expensive to reinforce. I think it's 34 or so each whereas Airborne is 28, same as riflemen.

The execute crit is really powerful. Squads just start dropping if you have pathies on the field.

Who can 1-shot models below 40% health, who have some of the best vision in the game, and who can put down beacons to remotely reinforce airborne.....

path finders sniper rifles are just cosplays , not real.

Well, to all of us who live in reality they are real.
don't underestimate Pathfinders. I normally don't use them but I like them as part of the Airborne doctrine. Their beacons are helpful for Paratroopers' reinforcement so you don't have to waste time retreating back to HQ to reinforce. I should try double BARs on them though.

They are scouts troops.

pathfinder vet 3 with BARs are powerful at range, but pathfinder vet 3 with m1919 or mg34 is borderline game breaking

just maintain your distance and watch them drop models like its childs play

Vet them up and they can snipe tank or quickly mow down infantry from range .

Give them something to replace theirs puny M1 .

Ditto, ditto, ditto and to all posts above. As soon as able, I arm them with bazooks and use them to capture points. They are good to ward off the enemy from re-capturing. (for a while anyway until able to re-enforce.)

The squad has 2 carbines and 2 scoped garands. I always sit them behind the rest of my units. Give them BARs or better still M1919s if you can. Stick watch them murder everything.

Or give them obersoldaten mg34s. Dunno if it's still bugged. But thier snipe ability seems to apply to the mg34 LMG lol. German squads just melt.

I pretty much use them to sneak around and try to plant the beacons in cheeky spots, once i get 2 beacons down i send them on an attack move to cap points i think are not well defended, or to scout out an attack for my para's. Once i get a jackson on the field i try to get them to a place i think heavy armor will come from, put them in cover and have them hold fire, once i killed a tiger with the jackson, then killed the pioneers with the pathfinders. I typicly retreat them once they start taking damage, as pretty much any unit (with the same vet) can kill them at closer ranges besides PGrens armed with shrecks

I'm not sure how it goes, but weapons with fast rate of fire bring down models and Pathfinders snipe them cleanly.
