Infrared STG44 useless?
Along with the rest of that doctrine? Standard LMG obersoldaten upgrade is so much better even without veterancy they seem to do so much more damage than the ones with stg44 with vet3 or 4.

What stats?
Size same as commandos k98 damage way worse than stan stgs litte better summed up they lose.
6 man shock 1,5 armor 33,33% damage reduction even better than obers size at least against small arms pssh way better close up than k98 litte worse than stg but but still better summed up Panzergrens little fatter, guns litte worse but again 4 beats 2 etc.
You will beat none of them close up.

Just tested it in cover so 90% acc for obers 50% for others. They won vs fall and barly won vs panzergrens. They lost hard against schocks, assault guards, commandos and thompson paras. They strangely perform equal out of cover.

Unless you throw a toxic smoke grenade, followed by the grenade spread to stop them closing in. Anything left alive after running through those will to torn apart by the IR STGs.

New player here. Very interesting match. But I still don’t see what the stg obers did that the mg obers wouldn’t have been able to do. Although to be fair I’ve used obers rarely so maybe I’m not good at spotting the difference. Also ir stg obers would be pretty cool if they could shoot through smoke like normal. At least the models with stgs.

Another benefit is being able to build a mech truck and med truck, then later call in the command panther when the enemy starts fielding mediums; without having to invest into a flak truck.
you NEED to try Obersodalten with infrared STG44 garrisoned inside building... they are crazy good.

I just realised that is actually a pretty big advantage considering flak truck costs 120 fuel. You can use com panther until you have fuel for the flak truck later.
