Is Red Ball Express the worst map for team games?
Just boggles the mind that its still in rotation. Only played a game on it today as my vetoes reset for some reason.

It does not suit 3v3/4v4 at all, especially as allies where you are meant to flank etc but are forced into a meat grinder they aren't designed for.

It's not great and especially lacks space in 4vs4, but that's a common issue with maps for those modes. A really big part of the problem is team coordination. The maps don't have enough space for 3 or 4 armies on each side to all go about flanking manouvers individually. If those players band together however and move as one army, it works.

Yeah I agree. Just feels like better maps have been withdrawn from the pool while red ball remains.

Tbh I'd be happy playing Steppes 99% of the time and the game could really do with more open maps of that nature.

In my opinion 3vs3/4vs4 maps should have made more use of the other types of capture points we had in the game once. You know those recon towers, repair stations and field hospitals/infirmaries. That way they could be larger and have more relevant capture zones without inflating resource income or making long retreat paths a real problem for factions without forward retreat points (since you would be able to set up a soft retreat point easier and cheaper).

Totally agree

Lanzerath Ambush is worse....

If you play Soviet or Wehr.... You will lost 50% of the map if you retreat once.

I'm not a huge fan of Red Ball, but others must be. No joke, I got that map 4 times in a row just yesterday searching for random games.

I don' find it terrible (better than that horrid 5 star castle map), but I agree that some of the maps taken out of the rotation were better than Red Ball.

Sometimes I think it would be fairest, if maps were square. Not mirrored or anything, but just with the same width and hight to avoid giving certain factions/builds/units benefits through that aspect alone.

Tbh I think all factions need FRPs or none at all. I'm in favour of none as I think losing an engagement should keep that unit out of the battle for a bit longer than retreating behind a bush for a minute then coming back fully manned and healed. I know thats hyperbole but you know what I mean.

To be fair FRPs have been heavily nerfed last time around and they do cost quite a lot and take a while to fully estabilsh. There is also a lot of risk involved with the stationary variants.

I would however love to see the Wehrmacht and Soviet HTs able to drop medical supplies at a moderate munitions cost and of course only without their respective upgrades. They are often overlooked and overshadowed as it is, so why not boost their support role a little?

I would say that the Soviets are the ones who should get that given that most Ost Heer infantry units can already self heal, or heal others, at 15 munitions a pop after vet one. That and the 252 already gets plenty of attention given its flamer ability.
it's one of the worst map if not the worst, now i dont recommend removing it out the pool - maybe some people like it? - but i suggest bringing back the maps they already removed... it's kinda stupid to remove maps (( good or bad maps )) cuz it short limits the game .. just increase vetos and add more maps

That's the one with the ambient minefield in the center of the map isn't it?

Played it once. Permanently vetoed after it.

No, that's Vielsalm.

Lanzerath Ambush is a snow map where there's town on the left and maze-like forest in the right.

The map is also asymetrical. The bottom side got fuel in the town while the top side got fuel in the middle.
It takes like 5 minute to retreat, Heal up and get back to the fight.
