Keep in mind how effective the design was. You had an assault rifle that weighed 6lbs loaded (less than a SMG) fired a overpowered pistol bullet, used rifle grenade, bayonets could be mounted with a scope, some had folding stocks there were 6 million produced etc.
These were pretty much top priority in terms of US small arms. They replaced SMGs in every way beyond compactness in US service.
not that that number would matter considering we have alot of rare tanks and weapons in the game already
There's also some other minor modifications and they were designed to use 30 round magazines.
jokes aside it could be an interesting idea, but when putting it onto the units its currently on it seems like a bad idea, considering it would make rears (by the looks of it) much better then pios as it has good accuracy and a very good fire rate over the mp40 (750 vs 550) and an a better fire rate of the stg44 (750 vs 600)
Also on paras and rangers it kinda seems like it would be better then the thompson upgrade as while it would be better at longer ranges while still having very good close range fire power (plus i believe the thompson used in game is the m1a1 which has a fire rate of about 700-800 which isnt that much more) so it would seem like it would be a better choice over all
interesting idea but balance wise no one would go for it, plus you really think you could get any pro axis player to agree to make a 200mp repair unit better then his 200 or 300mp repair unit?
Technically its a carbine since it didnt use an intermediate rifle round. Thats just nitpicking though.
