US Army vs Wehrmacht.

Short Text: How tf do i fight Wehrmacht as US Army seeing as late game my paperthin tanks will get blown up in seconds. Reason i won was because i managed to recycle the AT guns scattered around the base and keep reinforce spamming my units until my friends resources went empty and he couldnt push anymore/or gave up seeing on how long i holded out. And i am sure this wont happen in a normal 1v1 and was probably a bit missplayed by him seeing as we are both quite new to the game. I like the US Army faction but the tanks are sooooo bad might aswell play it infantry, light vechicle only.


Long Story:Hello today i had a 2h long fight vs my friend. I was the US army and he was playing Wehrmacht and it played out in the end with Tank Warfare i had like 6 Tank Destroyers and 3-4 Units of Bazooka Infantry vs his 5 tanks. But my Tank Destroyers were destroyed SO EASILY while i barerly managed to destroy 2-3 of his 5 tanks. Even the Stug i believe was winning a 1v1 easily and is able to destroy a tank and cripple the other in a 1v2(Tank Destroyers). It played out with him rushing so many tanks as possible and steam rolling the entire map. All i had were Spammed Rifleman(Bazooka upgrade) and AT guns and i holded out so long in my base while being pushed by tanks 24/7. He then switched to some Panzerwerfer 42s which bombared my base and i still hold out with my reinforce spam and my heal truck if available it went on and on and on until he was out of resources and couldnt make any tanks anymore. Thats when i started sending out all my units to capture the points which in return made me able to send some tank destroyers from the doctorine which attacked his base and managed to win the game.

You don't have to go to HQ to purchase units. The F1-F5 keys + the hotkeys for the units allows you to do it without looking.

If you want, take a look into the manual (can be easily found online as well) for all the hotkeys and shortcuts.

I'm gonna take a break for a little so whenever I come back, I'm wondering if you can choose your own hot keys my f1-f12 don't work, also can you prone units is there a hot key for that or I guess just as good a hot key to stop an advancing unit so you don't have to worry about them running into enemies when you're focused on something else?

You can put them into control groups. It's possible to put only one unit into them, so you basically have a number key assigned to each.

Rebinding keys requires third party software... sadly not a feature in the game.

Going prone is just an animation and not really a mechanic. It's part of the effects of getting suppressed for example, but that's more of a visual component.

Other games allow you to select buildings and put them into control groups as well. Not sure about CoH as I never needed that given the F-keys work.

well for CoH you rarely have enough resources to continuously produce units

So not using hot keys for unit production would be okay thing to do.

However, I find using combat related hot key to be very helpful. (Retreat, Overdrie, AT snare, grenade, and other commonly used ability)

Idk going back to hq was one of the things that made it harder for me to get comfortable during my vs ai game because I use a lot of micro and it makes me turn away from the battle to get reinforcements, upgrades also

What are you talking about? Buyable units are literally at the bottom right. You dont have to move your camera back to base to buy units. And if you're reinforcing, just look at the top right, wait for the retreat icon to stop blinking, click on the unit you want to reinforce from the top right and press R. And you can just click on the area on the map you want to move your camera to.

The numbers and stats of units determine why a majority of doctrines and units aren't used by high ranking players. why can't superior german technology lose to our mediocre tanks, i'm mean wtf how is that even possible? we won the war man they should lose the moment they see us

what is the "elite" brands of cars? it's mercedes, bwm and audi
surprise surpise they are all 3 german
obviously there are italian brands, but those are sport cars, i'm talking about casual cars

german engineering, and german technology has allways been advanced

i work in belgium in the printing industry, guess who owns the printing industry because their machines are simply the best? correct germany
both heidelberg and manroland deliver quality german engineering
