SweetFX 1.5.1 Configurator Graphics Mod guide for ETS2
SweetFX Shader Suite (or just SweetFX), is a mod built on the InjectSMAA shader injector, that allows you to apply a suite of post processing shader effects to your games. I mainly use this tool to sharpen up the game image and improve the colour and contrast.

SweetFX works with almost any 32bit (and hopefully soon 64bit) DirectX 9, 10 or 11 games or applications.

It runs on all Windows versions from Windows 2000 and up. Both 32bit and 64bit. Certain parts of SweetFX can be CPU/VGA resource heavy so keep this in mind when modding. (I have a decent mid range PC and it has hardly any impact)

SweetFX Configurator allows you to simply add and remove games from its interface instead of having to add all of the files manually like with standard sweetfx.

SweetFX 1.5.1 Configurator is available here,

http://s3.kkloud.com.s3.amazonaws.com/gett/64SMJpf/SweetFX-Configurator_standalone_with_SweetFX_1.5.1.7z?response-content-disposition=attachment%3B&AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAI7XHZJPL62V2UOVA&Signature=IxOPiIfYQQZFk5lLe46I9ilLXrM%3D&Expires=1400953246
or

Once this has downloaded you will get a file called SweetFX-Configurator_standalone_with_SweetFX_1.5.1.7z You now need to use a free program called 7Zip or Winrar to unpack (unzip/extract) this.

Open the folder up and you will get a folder galled SweetFX Configurator you can place this anywhere as it is a standalone portable programme (I have it on an external drive)

Now open up the folder and double click on SweetFX_config.exe we now need to add ETS2 to the program, Click on Add new game in the bottom left and navigate the explorer window to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x86\eurotrucks2.exe" and click on open.

Now you will see ETS2 listed in the column on the left hand side, click on this and on the right hand side click on Add SweetFX.

You will now see a list of effects in the main part of the window that you can edit (You can find various guides on this from Google) I only use 4 of the available effects It is not recoomended just to use them all, each person has their own preference so play with the settings and get it as you want.

My settings and changes are as follows,

Tick smaa_anti-aliasing and change,
smaa_threshold = 0.20
smaa_max_search_steps = 62
smaa_max_search_steps_diag = 16
smaa_corner_rounding = 68

Tick Luma Sharpen and change,
sharp_strength = 1.75

Tick Vibrance and change,
Vibrance = 0.45

Tick Curves and change,
Curves_contrast = 0.25

(You can also try increasing the avove values for a sharper more colourful look)

Once that is done click Save new Config and you can close the tool as it is not needed to be running to perform the changes, now just launch the game as normal and you can see the difference by pressing the Scroll Lock key on your keyboard which enables/disables the effects.

I hope you can follow this and that you can make the game as beautiful as possible, feel free to add your presets/changes below and I will try to answer questions if they arise.

I highly reccomend using this with BlackOpens Improved Weather Mod v2 HD for an even better look. His mod is amazing it is really worth a download and imo better than the other environment/hd texture mods.

Wow as always thanks wrobles this makes a huge difference to the sharpness of the game it takes away blur and makes the colors deeper.

I am surprised a small tool can do so much :)

Sure no Problem :B1:
Yeah thanks wrobles i must say i did not think the game could look any better i was wrong now the game look's a lot sharper & colour is way more vibrant will try the Improved Weather Mod and see if i like thanks again...
Yeah it really gets rid of those blurry texetures, I play on Ultra settings at 300% scaling at 2560x1440 and some of the textures just look really washed out but SweetFX fixes this and makes the game look so much nicer. I cannot reccomend thsi enough it is free and easy too use.
Brilliant thanks
I used to use SFX to sharpen and rebuild washed out textures due to AA, but I've since switched to the FXAA Tool (for Nvidia cards) because it has a sharpen and color saturation function just like SFX, and... Is a little easier to use because it uses virtual links to your game folder instead of having to drag and drop folders and .dll files.

Granted, with Steam, you can never mess up because you can delete everything and just re-verity your game, but still, I prefer ease-of-use over having to manually isntall things even if it is as simplea s SFX :)

BTW, thanks to Wrobles, for an excellent guide :D

Wow an old thread of mine, glad it helped.

I also updated @John Connor to reflect that it is a config tool that does all the work for you so no need to move any files manually and can be easily removed by 1 click in the configurator.

I updated the link to include BlackOpens latest improved weather mod (make sure improved weather is the first item to load or it may cause map issues also a fix for TSM in the forum link)
