18 Speed transmission

hello folks, i have recently found and installed a Kenworth W900 mod. when i purchased the truck i had the option to purchase an 18 speed transmission. after i purchased the transmission and installed it, i noticed that i couldnt get past 12th gear. i even set another button for the splitter to go further into the gear box but it still wouldnt work. does anyone know how to make the 18 speed transmission work?

Not sure if this will be any help since I am a poor & humble trucker who can not afford a G27 at the moment, :-( lol, but I hope it helps you out.

with G25 it works,iam using KW 900 RC atm,maybe as 442 said,u might have a G27 wheel, anyway hope it solves for ya !

thanks for the replies guys, i am using the G25. Wizard, since you have the G25, and can get it to work, what is your shifting set too in controls? i have my shifter set to "range" and both shifter toggles are set to buttons. the toggle from 6th to 7th work, but it doesnt seem to go from 12th to 13th.

I have range as well but are using - real automatic, or - sequential gears, did not mess with other so much so i cant help ya much there mate !

the default gearbox_range.sii, gearbox_splitter.sii, and gearbox_range_splitter.sii only have 12 forward gears by default, you need to add gears. Here is a link to a modded .sii i made for myself that has upto 18 forward gears and 4 reverse gears, http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=35216 check it out and look at http://www.scaniadrivergame.com/en/input_config.php to make your own. Its pretty easy to do, good luck

or just use automatic gears, then it uses all gears, both backwards and forward ( 4 back- 18 forward, with KW that is ) but maybe not so fun use automatic,thats just me, used shifters to long irl i guess and became lazy lol....

wow thanks guys, 18 speed is working like a charm! thanks again to all who responded. Wizard, i do have just one last question. the 4 reverse gears, they feel as thogh they are all the same ratio, meaning i dont go faster in reverse if i go through all the revers gears, is that supposed to be like that, or is that a small glitch that is being worked on?

A little faster it goes but nor much, i think its more cosmetica there...idk :-/

which truck? it depends on the gear ratio that the modder set up. In the old Kenworth W900 ARC mod, the 4 reverse gears all have large difference for reverse. r1 is creeping and all you want for most reversing jobs. if you go to r4 you can almost go faster than is safe..

r1 tops out at 8km/hr

r4 hits 45km/hr...

with the 780hp motor

I just made a range mode to get up to 18 speeds without skipping gears! It follows the default 12 range speeds and it follows the following gears like normal and goes up to 18 gears! the link is: {LINK REMOVED}https://www.mediafire.com/?nmt83tr7qdd8mkh I used this one and reprogrammed it to achieve the same h-shift pantern that you used in the previous one!
P.S. I removed the r1-r3 reverse gears and instead you got in all splitter buttons the r4 gear.
