Buy a better or upgrade the cheapest truck?
I have a doubt about what is best to do. I'm buying my first Scania and I am in doubt whether I should buy the cheaper (R360 normal) or buy an improved version (R420 highline or topline).

The question is, if I buy the cheapest (R360) and I upgrade to stay equal to R420 (engine, chassis, cabin, etc., all the same), it is cheapest than buying the R420.

What's the catch? I'm in doubt, it does not make much sense, since I choose exactly the same itens, but the price still remain different.

Could you help me by explaining what the difference is it and what is the best strategy to buy and improve the truck?

Thank you!

You can upgrade to those later as you level up and unlock more upgrades. Then once your ready to buy another cab you can give that to an AI driver and buy one of the special edition cabs. At least I think that's how it works.

Even the cheapest truck can eventually be upgraded to the most expensive. Like you have discovered customizing a truck can sometimes end up cheaper than buying one off the floor.

As far as I know parts are parts, whether you buy them separately or as a whole truck. There's no hidden secrets to it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Go with what you think is the cheapest if you want to. The game really isn't meant for worrying about small details or efficiency.

buy the best you can afford that want. upgrading is very expensive. You will end up paying twice as much if upgrade instead of buying it already upgraded

I tried both, cheapest then upgrade and fully upgraded
. cheapest : 108.460 + full upgrade = 162.472 = 270.932
. fully upgraded : 239.980

There is about 30k between the two and it's not a " when the parts are unlocked " upgrade, which would be way more costly ... In the end, buy the best you can afford and only upgrade when all the parts for a big one are available (like 360HP > 560HP > 730HP).

Great to know Nono54Fr, thank you! I didn't know that the difference was that all.
