Retarder activatied but not turning off?

I keep getting a message on the Sat Nav saying that the retarder is activated and to press ' to turn it off. I've been pressing it repeatedly, and it isn't turning off.
Could this be why my truck hasn't gone above 17mph for the last half an hour?
Also, before this problem my Cruise Control stopped working.

Maybe the retarder is too strong and the SatNav ask you to decrease it ?

I had the same thing, keep pressing the button the SatNav tells you ( I think it was a dot or a comma) and it will eventually work.

and yes, this is why you're not going over 17mph

One button increases it and the other decreases it. If you're pushing the wrong one, you'll be trying to turn it 'more on' instead of off.

I changed mine to the mouse wheel up/down (down for increase, up for decrease, to match the lever by the steering wheel) so I can easily flick it on or off when it yells at me about it.

I ended up having to rebind the damn keys, as ' wasn't doing a thing. Ended up putting them as + and - on the num lock keys. At least I know I won't accidentally catch them again. Driving through Europe at 17mph is not fun.

It's because it's not on or off, it has various levels.

that thing drove me crazy, i smashed my keyboard and then this thing was gone. anyway, thanks for tips, even tho they didn't help. maybe this feature is just bugged and that's it

If you dont want retarder then just do not select the transmition with the retarder. That solves the problem.

The retarder is very usefull, but you must know that even if one level is activated you cant use cruise control.

guys i know how turn it off if its on just hit the key on the left of enter until it turns off

I still can't get this retarder to turn off. My speed is maxed around 60kmh.

I tried to reassign the keys to + and - but it doesn't seem to matter, and my cruise control won't work because retarder is on.

This is so frustrating that a single misclick can bring my game to its knees
