Traffic Accidents
Saw an accident at an intersection - a Van crossing hit a car coming the other way. Backed up traffic at the lights and i was stuck in the line. Does the traffic eventually clear? I waited for 10 minutes (real time) but it did not clear. I quit out of the game. I mean - i like the realism of seeing accidents on the road (which doesn't involve you), and dont mind a "simulated" delay because of it... but it did not look as if the game would clear up and let me continue. Anyone knows how accidents work in this game?

If you go back into the game, it will have cleared. Quitting and reloading seems to get rid of any traffic problems you might have.

To add to this: if you hit them with the side of the truck rather than just trying to muscle straight through you'll decrease your chances of getting hit with a fine even further. The game seems to treat side impacts differently.

I'm yet to see an accident that wasn't caused by me, but I've been stuck in a neverending traffic jam once. Waited some 10-15 odd minutes for kicks, just to see if it ever clears. It wasn't going to so I just plowed an opening through the opposing lane and went about my business.

Oddly enough, I can't remember getting any fines either (nor any damage) eventhough I accelerated flat out into the cars to my left. I guess my truck just took it like a MAN. Ho, ho. :)

No? In Australia all our semis (that's what we call trucks with trailers) have signs saying DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE.

Until SCS implements these signs for my trailers I will assume ALL accidents are NOT my fault :)

I think its a trigger box issue. It has happen to me a few times.

The first time it happened, I just went into the other lane and got fined for hitting a car.

The second time, I decided to wait it out. After about 5 mins, I was thinking something must be up. I then noticed that there was still some space between me and the car in front of me. What I did was slowly inched up to the car until I was almost touching the bumper. After, about 30 secs later it cleared up and I was on my way.

I've done it that way ever since and it seems to work.
