it's actually pretty logical, you don't expect to have a transport company, whatever the size of it, to have fully equipped truck service station in every garage.

I kinda would. Maybe I don't know what garages cost, but for a small $180,000 garage I think I would certainly have a maintenance bay. Every big garage get it's own gas station so why not?

Perhaps we could expect, for example having a minimum of repairs with a little garage for the repairs of motor, (n fact the sensibles and urgent elements ot the trucks), and then having more possibilities of repair with the big garage ? What do you think about ?

I like that idea.

And it's not like I own a garage in every town (yet.... lol), so it would only be a perk if you have a garage close by. Otherwise you would still be using the regular repair shops.

The vast majority of companies that operate truck fleets have their own dedicated service bays and mechanics. With the amount of upkeep you have to do on a semi, it would be prohibitively expensive to do it any other way.

Even the smallest companies have their own mechanics, at least around here. There's a ton of small farms that operate only two or three trucks, and they all have at least one service bay and mechanic on duty.

I agree. Perhaps they could add in a function to allow you to hire mechanics for your garage.

Yeah I found it odd that we can have a fuel bowser and NOT a mechanic at our garage. What zOMGREl said about even small transport companies having mechanics is true. My ex-step father, biological father, unlce and grandfather are all truckers and have worked for companies of varying sizes, from nation-wide companies to small independent freight lines, or for themselves, and most establsihed companies have their own mechanic. The only time you don't really have that option is when you're an owner-operator (you own and operate your own truck) which my uncle does now, he takes his truck to get serviced at a dealership but when you have 2 or more trucks and a yard (truck yard or as ETS2 calls it: a garage), and a stable income it's easier and cheaper to have your own mechanic on call.

Perhaps, with the 3 truck garage, you can have the option of hiring a mechanic but he costs a bit so you need to have an established, relatively stable income in order to hire them. So when you upgrade to the 5 truck garage, you have your own mechanic and your own fuel pump which sees you being less reliant on outsourcing. But perhaps (so repair shops aren't completely redundant) your own mechanic can only fix trucks that are damaged below 50%. Anything more and they need to go to a repair shop for a major overhaul and obviously upgrading and painting can only be done at a repair shop.

Except you even see an engine hanging suspended in the garage. Yes, it *looks* like it can do, but it can't. Annoying. (And maybe that looked diff in 2013…)

Changing oil and oilfilters, tyres, maybe yes. Changing engine an Boxes, mostly no. Even maintaning a gearbox or valves, no.

Here in central europe a modern fleets maintanance will be outcourced, unless your can run a medium sized garage from it. But no fleet is that big. A small garage will not run profitable enought. Modern economics work like that.

In a way where humans do not matter anymore. We should change that by changing the money system, because it makes us do what we do: compound interest.

I agree and game need to tow truck different option helpin ... Help truck in road, refuel help sometimes, if you be stcuk with trailer in road and go self nearest service you find then can transport trailer that city or service. Maybe can ai traffic truck someone help you in road exapmle go uphill and truck engine power is too low to climb up then someone can help you in traffic
