Unpack SCS Files?

Hi, Does anyone know how I can unpack the .scs files? I have tried renaming them to have the extensions .zip, .rar and .7z as has been suggested on other forums but it doesn't seem to work for ETS2.

I open all .scs files using winrar and or 7zip. I simply associated the .scs extension with winrar so that I only have to double click on any .scs file to open it to see what is inside. You should not need to rename them, just associate the .scs extension with your chosen archiver program.

If it's not working for you then there is something wrong perhaps with the .scs file that you downloaded, all of the scs files I've got open just fine with winrar and 7zip.

Are you trying to unpack the base.scs file or the def.scs file both found in the game install folder?

You need to use the scs extractor found at the official scs software website.

Yeah what zbobg said. I assumed you meant the mod .scs files not the scs files that ship with the game.

hi there guys I know this page is out dated but I am wondering if this still applies to American Truck simulator and if so why is it not working for me?

ATS & ETS2 use the same file system, so it's the same tool(s).

SCS files created by SCS can only be extracted with their tools.
SCS files created by modders can be opened with any archive extractors.
