Dynamic Fuel?
I noticed that the latest update added a new fuel indicator showing xx l/h and xx/100km for the Dashboard Display Mode. So did they really add dynamic fuel or is this just for looks?

Haven't played this game in a while so I'm kinda out of the loop when it comes to updates.

Yes, it has changed. Before, with only 3* in the Ecodriving Skill, I could make about 3300kms with a full tank. Whatever was the load, the road or my driving, 3300kms everytime (~7000kms without a trailer). But with this option, if I drive like a maniac and some heavy load (120 kmh & 85 l/h) , it could go below 2500kms and easily less.
Yup, I'm seeing different L/100km dependent on the load too.

Same here. I used to drive more fuel efficiently and eco-friendly before enabling this new option. Using adaptive automatic transmission does no good to the gas mileage either, in fact I have noticed that this combination can drain a full tank pretty quick.

Yes, but only if you enable the option in the "gameplay" settings.

On the dash there is also another section that shows litres left in your tank and estimated milage. I was flooring my gas with load and it shows 977 miles. No load with feathered throttle it went up to 1200+.
I don't have the simulation fuel ticked, does it only apply when you choose that option?

On some of the trucks, the info display is so small I can't even read the estimated mileage. Any way around this?

Also, last night I had a low fuel warning, and had 1 pixel worth of gas left in the fuel tank display. But the info display still said I had like 700km worth of fuel left, which didn't make any sense, because I burned through half the tank during a simple 90 minute 200km drive. Am I reading it wrong?

There is a lot of things at play here. What is your level of ecodriving ? Your fuel capacity ? How much did you have before you started your trip ? What is the weight of your load ? What was your mean speed ? What roads did you take ?

I just recently aquired the MAN TGX XXL with the 680hp engine and oh boy that thing is thirsty

EDIT: When looking for specs I noticed the fuel tank in this one is not as big.. so that's why I gotta refuel more often xD - And I just went in-game, carrying Diesel (25t) and high-reving to gain speed (flat highway) it can go above 140l/100km

Doing 90-100km/h on highway the avg is around 60l/100km (I'm playing on a controller with manual gearbox btw :D: )

Does the feature work if I turn it off?

Much like the adaptive automatic, automatic exhaust brake, speed limiter, air brake simulation, etc. the features only work when enabled. Otherwise why would there be an option to enable or disable them?

That's kind of a snarky comment. The documentation for this game doesn't explain any of this, which is why he's asking.

What is Simulation Fuel anyway and how exactly does that checkbox effect my game play? Care to explain? I know when I don't have my Simulation Fuel box checked, I still run out of gas. I think that's what the guy is asking.

love this game, especially with latest patch it's more realistic than ever. love that dynamic fuel indicator

The fuel simulation is supposed to give a more realistic fuel usage based on your driving habits.

So for instance going full throttle all the time and slamming to a stop at every stop sign and light is probably going to drain your fuel a bit faster, whereas maintaining a more stable speed and coasting to a stop will conserve fuel better.

Yep, my driving habits have changed big time since they add this.

Cruise control and fuel simulation don't get along with each other...

I haven't noticed an issue unless you're using an automatic transmission, I don't know how it behaves with cruise control.
