Sounds good but i have no idea how to use or set-up Promods have looked at the site a few times but can't find any help on how to get or use the mod so will leave it until i can find more information on how to use and set-up

What the hell is promods and WHY is there not a single page on their website with a clear description of WHAT IS IT CHANGING???? And it requires registration! Poor man's job.

Essentially ProMods Europe is a map mod that extends the default Europe map with more countries and cities. It also details the default map squeezing in more cities in-between the ones SCS models.

It does require registering an account on their website to be able to download it. (Didn't you noticed that when you browsed their website for the "What is" info?) The mod is free of charge.

Technically the mod normally requires all map DLCs released by SCS, possibly with the exception of the newest DLC for a while after release.

ProMods started many years ago when the default map was much smaller, no DLCs and such. it is still developed and expanding the map.

ProMods was the only map that was really worth playing for a very long time. Over time, however, they have rested on their laurels and for some years now there have clearly been better maps.

But for many people, ProMods is still the only real thing - often because that's what they're used to.

there are lots of how to guides in forum and elsewhere, also a bit of research helps, a lot of guides also on social media. hope this helps

It works like any other (map) mod, though there are many map mods that use Promods as a base, there are loads of guides out there.

You're not asking for an opinion, but I'm giving mine anyways :-) I use to play with Promods a lot, in fact if it wasn't for Promods I'm not sure if I'd have near 4000 hours in this game, but imho Promods isn't really needed anymore, sure it adds some places SCS doesn't but the list, certainly the interesting things get's smaller with every SCS update, we'll get norhtern Scandinavia later this year (I assume) and a rework of the Benelux is probably also not that far away. which leaves The UK, Ireland and Iceland the interesting parts of Promods imho, but Iceland is much overrated imho and doesn't even belong in the game, but what I think of Iceland isn't that important, but you won't go there often because when you've seen it once, you've seen it enough, well I mean, it's like using a winter mod, fun for a bit, but not too often. :-)
And also, Iceland is expected to be a dlc (or part of) at some point, as is a UK rework.

I'm keeping my Promods profile alive, but over the past year or so I've only played it once or twice.

edit, also a Downside of using Promods is that WOT contracts don't really work with it.

Thanks for your honest opinion Underscore_101_3 I was looking at it for the UK as that where I live and my Garage is also there but i mainly drive in Europe because the UK map is so outdated with the rest of the map now

there is a nice little map extention of Switzerland that is available with very few hoops to jump though , its called " More European Cities" and its on Truckymods, and by the way age should never be an issue, i myself am 69 and a retired Owner/Operator. lots of help available just ask .....good luck m8

I am 68 and I use Promods, it really is easy to download and install into your game, I use it because like you, my garage is in the UK and Promods have done some wonderful things in the UK, much better than the Vanilla version.
