Eco Driving Skill
I'm guessing this skill is pointless if you have Simulation Fuel on.

Why would it be pointless if you have simulation fuel on?
It's going to have an even bigger impact in that case, as far as I can tell.

Just aking, becaues the ecodriving skill was based (at the time) on a fixed Fuel Consumption.

With a more dynamic fuel consumption, I really didn't noticed better "MPG" until I upgraded to a more powerfuel engine. That's when my Litters per 100km went from 35-45 to 32-40

Could have sworn people saying that the simulated usage, is higher than the normal fixed as it was before. Ah well. It has always been on the low priority for me, since fuel isn't all that expensive, compared to what you get per trip.

I got pretty high ecodriving skill and realistic fuel consumption. My mpg goes below 30 so I guess the skill still works.

Already said but eco-driving and fuel simulation are two differents things. Eco-driving is more like an overall travel capabilities and Fuel-sim is more like an instant fuel consumption. They do not exclude each other but interact with each other.

Let say, my truck have a 1200L tank and with any trailer, from full tank to empty tank, I can make about 3500 kms with a 3* eco-driving. One day, I make a 5tons / 12hrs trip and the fuel consumption was around 35l/hrs. The next day, I make a 20tons / 4hrs trip and the fuel consumption was around 60l/hrs [...] Each and every travel have a different fuel consumption but at the end of that week, I logged-in 1800l and 3600kms. Maybe next week, i will do 1400l & 4000kms and the week after that 1600l & 2500kms.

I read where it reduces your fuel costs in the freight mode.

if you have a set of pedals its not point less but its like cheating, because it should be you that drive green without flooring the gas

Hmm? How is it like cheating? It's just like in RL. If you drive everywhere and constantly put Full Throttle to get to your Speeds, your over working the Engine and burn through more Fuel than if you were gently taking it up to speed.

Yep. That's how I drive here and in real life. You won't see me gunning it in this game except steep hills or high speed overtakes since trucks need that kick in the pants in those situations. But ecodriving shaves off a percentage of fuel usage. So it'll save gas no matter which model you use.

Does increasing your eco driving mode have an effect on the speed? Cos since I have upgraded it to 4 I no longer able to drive above 90pmh

It only affects fuel economy when not using the Realistic Fuel Consumption option.

If you're taking External Contract or External Market jobs, then the Speed Limiter option will be forced regardless of your setting. That would limit you to 90kph.

Your most fuel saving easy option is staying within speed limits. There is a HUGE(exponential) difference in fuel consumption between going 80kmh and 90kmh.

I even choose to go 80kmh sometimes when in 90kmh zones because I wont have to ajust speed back and forth all the time and just sitting at 80kmh is actually much less stressfull driving than driving 90kmh.exponential
