1) Increase resolution scaling; it improves the problems but does not get fully rid of them and demands much more GPU performance
2) NPI (Nvidia Profile Inspector) tweaks (for Nvidia GPUs only); I never tried those, there should be guides and tutorials available for this on the net / YT
3) Pretty new: TAA implementation by Snowymoon, instructions are available on the official forum here: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=323176
the third one seems awesome.
i hope he keeps going do this, because the game now...it's playable.
it's another thing. also it's more fluid.
very impressive.

I posted there the following:
"I have tried this solution given by SNOWYMOON and it works, it really works, thanks AyMazingATS for communicating it.
Now everything looks better, without flickering, shimmering. From having to be using a 400% scaling to still have those graphical problems to being able to lower the scaling to 100%.
With the consequent energy savings because the graphics card has now reduced its workload. Therefore less GPU temperature and the CPU has also dropped by 8% load, less energy consumed.
And as a consequence, now I can turn up all the graphic sections to the maximum, because the CPU and GPU have more free resources, the game now looks much better.
Once again, the genius of a single person, let's call it a mod, has managed to provide a solution to what we have all been suffering for a long time and not finding an answer from SCS. how can this be? I try to understand it but I can't."
EDIT:
Requires a permanent internet connection because the DLL on your PC is just the client and needs to connect to its server, it is a term that you should know and consider what it IMPLIES.
This may mean that players, despite being tired of fighting with the flickering and shimmering problem, have many reservations about using this mod and choose to wait for SCS to provide its solution after years of waiting on the part of the players.
SCS could be more forthcoming on this matter. I'm sure we would all appreciate information on the progress of the game engine change project.
Oh my word, thanks for introducing the TAA. It's like dream come true!!!
Impressive right? I hope this guy keeps updating...
YEAH!!! what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ different with this!!!! my eye´s will say a big thx for this advise!!!!
right...
Thank LoneOne (to which i gave an award) and also keluvu, showing that interest has to be kept in this project. One single file and it's another game. And i decided to return TODAY to this game. after years...and this project is very recent it seems
I always heard about Nvidia profile mod, but i never understand, and frankly i'm too lazy.
i wanna play a game...vanilla (years ago i used to have a lot of maps...but after crash, waiting for updates...i said, well i restart vanilla.)
did you deactivate all antialiasing stuff? i even deactivate the Nvidia panel antialias...
if you have Nvidia of course.
i mean, it's there. they at least aknoledge the problem?
or they just made a lot of trailer dlc's and leaving this big problem there?
They are, and always have been, working on the graphic quality of the game, and it is expected that the game engine will be updated to DirectX 12 in the very near future, with consequent improvement and more updates to come.
The modder who did this has found it does not always work with Radeon GFX cards and drivers, so where would that leave SCS if they enabled it in the game and a huge number of players found that it wouldn't run?
Modders can do whatever they like and all players use mods at their own risk, but SCS are not in that position. Every change they make has to be compatible with every system the game is installed on.
SCS are very aware and they do not "make a lot of trailer dlc's" instead of upgrading the game engine, the teams that do those aspects of the game are completely separate, which you should know, as you think you have a better grasp of understanding game development than the professionals who write the game code.
if SCS has acknoledge this problem i don't know, but i just returned after years to this game, and the graphical improvement is what it is
said that, i just wanna relax, and enjoy this game.
i don't want to open long discussions with random people online, if this thing is trash for you, i don't care. but don't open a long defense on the style of they do this they do that...i mean, if you don't have the graphic immersion, you don't have a simulator.
but maybe it's just me, a biased person against SCS.
i was asking a question btw. you told me that they care, ok.
end of the story
also i read that AMD has problems with it.
but i can't tell you much, i just understand to disable all antialiasing, i disabled even Nvidia antialiasing.
you should talk with the guy, it's on the forum...
of course nothing doesn't work for everyone, at the end of the day, this is just a mod, a temporary antialiasing..
you should try the other, Nvidia inspector, i never did because i'm lazy...but the said that works.
...obviously if you have Nvidia
