Long Term Goals

Hi there,

i watched some of the Videos of ETS2 and i really like Sims.

But what is the Long Term Goal and Motivation on this Sim? Is there an Online Ranking? Or some Global Synched Missions and Stuff? Or "just" buying new and better Stuff?

I really would like to know what keeps you motivated doing all those Jobs.

Any Info i would appriciate. Im totally newbie on ETS2

As far as the game basics go there aren't really any goals, just grind your way to the truck you want to drive.
You can have personal goals like own every garage, hire all drivers, etc,... though there isn't much more.

There are Steam achievements to get that may make it exciting, and there's WOT with events from time to time to get free accessories.

Different players play it different ways, I just drive and don't care much for other things, others may only do WOT stuff and go for any achievement they can get,.. some play as realistic as possible others make it a race track.

There's a free demo btw, though most dlc and reworked areas look better than most of the base map.

Checked their site and seen that the Goals of the Community for West Balakan is reached. What are those rewards then?

WOT events usually are in 2 parts, a personal goal and a community goal, to get the award for the community goal you have to have done the personal goal.
Usually they are a number of specific drives/cargo, like the xmas events are delivering xmas presents, but when the event is for a new DLC it's usually deliver cargo to/from a number of cities of that dlc.
Usually the drives have to be a minimum of 200km.

I think for the Balkans event the personal goals is paint jobs (one for the truck (West Balkans dlc) and one for the trailer (RttBS dlc) and the community goal is an interior accessory item.

I found TruckersMP. How is this working? And is this also using the ATS not ETS2?

I don't know much about TruckersMP, I've played it, but don't like it, i will refrain from telling why :-)

But they are not affiliated with SCS, they have different servers with different rules/settings but it's basically mmo playing, you can play the same way as you would in single player, just with other people on the same map.
TMP doesn't allow mods and doesn't have AI traffic.

The games have their own built in MP called Convoy, they can have upto 8 players, allow for mods and have AI traffic (some things may depend on the host), you can do the same jobs as other players, it's easier to play with friends (I think).

There is no end game. For me its a relaxing game, no stress.

Here is the good thing: It is not competitive. It is just for relaxing. There is neither any win nor any game-over condition. You can play the game at your own pace.

As @Underscore rightly mentions, the rewards for the 2 ongoing events are truck and trailer paint jobs, and they look like this:

In addition to the various WoT event rewards, over time you also get some personal WoT rewards for different goals for completing WoT jobs.

I bought myself the American Truck Simulator with the Mexiko Map. I choosed Amerika. Europe i have seen in RL often enough. Thx for you help guys!

I just drive for the heck of it. I have a whole stack of maps in my mod manager that have added tons of new roads and challenges, and there are still a few others I have yet to install that can take me into parts of Asia, Africa, and even Brazil.

Get a VC going and you can introduce the competitive bit into it with Trucksbook for example.
