Best cities for garages?
I remember once seeing an article about the top 5 cities for purchasing garages, in regards to the most productive cities, but can't find it now. Any help appreciated as I need to start expanding. :serioussam:

Cheers. Think that will be my next garage.

I've got a full garage in Lux, and a driver comes home bobtail maybe once every two weeks. Gas is nice and cheap, too.

I have salzburg (5) and Goteburg (7) so these are really productive.

Whats peoples thoughts on Luxembourg? I have noticed recently when ever I pick up a load here there are 3 pages with lowest load being over £10k. Is this just random / lucky when I have visited or the norm

Whatever you do, don't get a garage in Tolland (Poland) there is like a toll both every 80kms

There's a big string of them from like Warsaw to the German border, and then one south of there and one in from Gdansk, but they're all cheap and mostly avoidable. The back roads are way more fun anyway.
I started on the lower part of Europe then branch out on the other furthest side of the map in doing so i have now 2 garage bought some couple of trucks for each side as level of both drivers rise up I added 2 more then quick travel to settle loans now i have 6 more garage all large garage and full with 5 trucks each and earning 500,000 to 1,000,000 Euro each time I quick travel to each garage. :) All I am doing now is travel and explore sometimes i carry a haul to the nearest place to buy some more garage. :) Happy Trucking!
FWIW my own analyses suggest that it makes not a blind bit of difference to your hired drivers where you place your garages - the freight market that the player sees affects only the player driver whilst the AI drivers are just a set of simple rules that are unaffected by the local economy. The one exception to that statement is that those garages that are close to ports with long distance ferry routes will negatively affect both how quickly (in terms of game time) your drivers develop skills and how much money they make on a per diem basis. So those drivers in a garage in Rotterdam (a city with a relatively good economy) will actually perform less well than those in Bern (a city with a relatively poor economy) because all of the time they spend sitting on a ferry is unproductive.

Besides, if you are anything like me then you wander from city to city visiting parts of the map that you've not yet driven and letting the most lucrative or interesting loads take you where they will. Thus where you place your garages doesn't really affect you (the fact that I can get slighter cheaper fuel from a large garage in Luxembourg matters not one whit if I only pass that way once every couple of game months) and will have little or no impact on how much money you make.
i use cities near ports

This is why I no longer play with default economy. Pointless and boring. No risk by speeding or running red lights as the tickets you get are pocket change. Damaging truck and or load is also not a big deal as you still make plenty of money.

Try an economy mod and earn at most a 10th of the default and you've actually got to pay attention.
I found the easiest way to see which are the busiest cities. Just go to the freight market and click on each city and see how many pages of jobs there are. Even with both DLCs I found Aalborg is the only one that ALWAYS has 5 pages of jobs. Start your garage there and your drivers will never be out of work. lol

^ Not quite accurate.

There are five cities on the map that have 5 industries in them:

Berlin, Gdansk, Milano, Paris and Salzburg.

Those will be the most productive. Any other city with four industries in will be decent too, but perhaps not as good as the five mentioned above. I think London only has three industries in it, so that one is a bad place to put a garage.

Aaaaand London was where I put my only garage... lol lesson learned

I believe Manchester is up there with them as well, You can get great paying jobs out of there.

i have based my garage in Manchester, as it has (birmingham - liverpool - carlisle - newcastle - grimsby - sheffield) all in a ring around it, so plenty of jobs between those places

This sounds amazing, I have never heard of it. Thanks for sharing.
note the max in workers is 7 per garage..

always pays to look in the nooks of each town and see what the bulk shipping though bewary of what and which mods you use because you can end up with alot of rubbish running ..

if you are doing the reefer runs all basic trucks will fit the bill for heavy anything above 625hp.

though the max you will see from volvo and scania..

no matter which volvo you are in you will get 750hp, scania maxes 730hp, mercs 625hp

Wait what? I can only get 5 drivers per garage, there aren't any more upgrades that I can see for the Large Garages. Am I missing something?
My most productive Garage is Dusseldorf. Duisberg to the North and Koln to the south. Your drivers will pick jobs from any of those 3 cities. Also if you do a lot of the online contracts, when you search for one it shows jobs from all 3 cities since they're so close to one another.
I have one in Calais , FR. It's pretty good because it's near a train rail way which transports you across the channel and the speed limit in France is 90. The bad part is that there are way too many toll stations which piss me off at times.

- Cities with 5 industries, 4, 3, 2, ...
- the more chemicals, the better
- in general: Cities without harbor
- City with 3 (2 Chemicals) may be better than a city with 4 (no chemical), if your drivers got the licences.

Agreed?
