Air gauge?
Maybe i'm blind but there doesn't seem to be anything that shows how much air preassure you have. The truck will just stop and the message pops up about air, but that's the only way I know about it.

All the trucks I've used have had an air pressure guage on the dashboard. Scania also has a reading on the dashboard info screen.

Tap "I" key several times, there is page on display and it could be listed. Rule of thumb - most, if not all trucks permits up to 12 application of brakes (including parking one) in quick succession. Don't do too much, and you'll be alright.

That does not work with every truck some only have an analog gauge some where on the dash.

They should havee put something on the navigational window, right next to fuel. Most trucks i've been in, real life had some type of alarm system in the cabin that went off when the pressure dropped too low.

Okay, I stand corrected. I launched the game and checked all trucks present there. Both Renaults, DAF, Majestic, MAN, and old Volvo has analog gauges. DAF, Majestic, MAN, and old Volvo also have additional indication lamp, that is lit when your air supply is low. New Iveco has only one page on display and that's air pressure monitor. Old Iveco has no gauge, nor display page, but has indication lamp. Scania has display page, no gauge, but has indication. Only new Volvo has no indication, but it has display page.

Depends on truck, I guess. By the way, why you out of air, using mod or don't have retarder? I don't remember being out of air outside of testing system.

City traffic and parking usually. On the open road it's not a problem, and I haven't encountered any really steep downhill roads yet.

Strange, I never had any air problems, even on old Volvo. Maybe you press brakes to often?
As for steep downhill, retarder is useful even outside those, on even surfaces, it helps you to avoid using main brakes until one final pressure. It less effective on low speed, though, but still useful and helps a lot.

I don't even know what you guys are talking about, played 12+ hours and never encountered anything about this "Air Pressure"
sarah Jan 2, 2014 @ 10:24am
You have to have air brake simulation checked in options. I think it is unchecked by default.
Sirrus Jan 2, 2014 @ 10:25am
You can have option "air brake simulation" turned off.

What are air brakes?
Sit with your truck in neautral and REV the engine for about 2 minutes IRL. It will bring up the pressure again! :)

It's a braking system used primarily on large vehicles. Instead of using fluid, like hydraulic brakes on a car, it uses compressed air. It requires a little more maintenance, like letting moisture out of the lines, and you have to apply different techniques with air braking than you would with a car. You should be using the engine brake(and retarder if you have one) for slowing down, so you don't drain too much air out of the system.

Woah, who you calling a ret ard?Just because I didn't know?
