Right click the game in the Steam Library. Go to Properties. And find the setting that asks if it should always be up to date or not.
LIBRARY--->right click on Euro Truck Simulator 2--->Properties-->Update
where is Always keep this game up to date select Do not automatically update this game.
What Jerry told you was for steam, if you have the game activated on steam, steam will be the only autoupdate function operating

I dont know where you see this, that option does not exist.
BLAIN: Select: Only update when launch it. Below that disable background downloads.
If you do not want your game to update to 1.35 when it comes out, because of mods etc you need to check on Steam first if the update went live. Then go into Properties-Betas and select a previous version of the game i.e. 1.34
That option is no longer there.
