Head Tracking and ETS 2
Hello,
First of all I want to say that support for this game is terrible. I have sent multiple requests for help with this but have only had one reply. I'm hoping some good soul on her can help me out.
I tried many times to get head tracking to work, I have tried different webcams and different software also, but I get the same problem everytime "HW not detected" So, if someone could fix this for me I would be eternally grateful.

You should know their technical support team only trained to answer about the game, not other separated hardware and software connected with the game.

The game only officially support TrackIR and Tobii tracking device. If you are using 3rd party or DIY build, you need software that able to emulate those two devices, such as OpenTrack.

https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases

Run OpenTrack, configure your tracking device until it works within OpenTrack and behaves as you expected. Keep OpenTrack open (minimize if necessary) before running the game. All tracking adjustment should be done within OpenTrack interface and do not attempt to access it through TrackIR setups within the game.

If your tracking device does not works in the game, make sure the following cvar is activated in config.cfg file inside "Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\" folder.
uset g_trackir "1"

I understand that support is not for 3d party software, however I am sure that the fault is with ETS2 as other games have no problem running head tracking software. So, surely, the problem must be with ETS2. Thank you for your reply.

The "HW Not Detected" that shows in this game is only for Tobii. Not other devices are supported in that particular menu. The game checks for Tobii, TrackIR, and TrackIR emulated devices, like Trackhat and 3d-printed solutions.

What software are you using for headtracking? We need more info to go on other than "I think it's the game that's broken."

As you are using third party software the game doesn't support, how is that a game issue?
I have tried tobii, beam, facetracknoir, opentrack. I can’t get any of them recognized by ets2 but works great with x4 foundations so tell me how is that
not an ets problem.

if you have not the tobii hardware you wont be able to use the software for it.

And as i have one running (and had a track ir in the past) both where plug & play and got detected and activated by the game itself on first use.

Have you checked one of the dozen of tutorials how to get a Camera headtracking "device" working?
There for sure is one for this game too i would assume.
I've used facetracknoir in the past with zero issues in these games. I've since upgraded to TrackIR which is miles better any way.

But again you have given absolutely no info for us to help you with. What steps did you take to enable the tracking software? Which software are you specifically wanting to try?
