ZF Eurotronic or the R Version?
Hi, i dont see/feel any diference between ZF Eurotronic and ZF Eurotronic R, except of the price. I bought both and tried them, but for me its absolut the same. Shouldnt be there any performance difference?

The R stands for Retarter. You would use that when you are going down a steep hill or into a Quarry with a heavy load.

The retarder is also neat for approaching on-ramps and the long corkscrew type off-ramps.

Thank you :)

I always thought R stands for racing and makes the Truck faster. Because when its about cars the R version is always the fastest even if its a Golf.

hahahahahaha
I remember reading in another forum last week where someone asked almost the same question as you but they were wondering if the R meant that the particular transmission had Reverse.
Thats not so bad! Some peoples think what "R" on gear box means "Rocket!", and try to enable that position on full speed - for more speed!XD
