Make sure you get the latest versions of these maps for ETS2 1.14. I also have a few trailer packs and other little things, like lights and traffic. You can google 'ETS2 Mods' and get a lot of mods to download. Hope this helps.
... man, I'm totally with u there... I jus got my first truck - a splendid green Scania. I know it ain't the best, but I love it. I am concentrating on dangerous loads and long distance skills first off. When I pull into the services I go to the kitchen and have a coffee and a cigarette for realism!
Still enjoying vanilla atm, but I'll be lookin for good mods in a few days.
Thanks! I actually logged on to post a question about this, which you already answered.
Shame about the maps not working together, but love the fact there are additional maps available to suit your own personal needs.
To answer the OP, I use either promods or TSM with the russian map. It adds variety for me. Sometimes you just feel like you want to take a trek to Greece ;)
I also run with the Going East DLC and Poland Rebuilding (http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=48363) as well as RusMap (http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=155934).
Poland Rebuilding has yet to be updated for 1.14 but is in beta though.

(A very nice mod that fixes many things in the game, but it hasn't been updated.)

ETS2 enables mods alphabetically.
Happy trucking. :)
TSM 5.3 and RusMap 1.4 (both of which are compatible with ETS2 1.14.2s) are 4.7gb combined. A 32bit machine with 4gb RAM (even given that not ALL of the 9 files of mods described above will be loaded into RAM at once) is really going to struggle.
Another user here was saying he had a 32bit machine with 3gb RAM and was having trouble/crashes with TSM 5.3.
Could that be the core issue? The fact that he/she is trying to load too many mod files at once, and not the fact that there's something wrong with the mod/game/settings?
Yes indeed, the closer you get to the limit of a system the less stable it is likely to be.
Just like you I wouldn't know exactly how ETS2 handles mods, although it is my impression that not all is loaded at once. In my "career" profile I use Going East, ProMods, (Poland Rebuilding pending update), RusMap, a weather mod, trailer and truck mods and a few other things. Loading up that profile and getting into a truck will consume just under 2GB RAM (Ok, I'm a bit out yonder ATM and recall more RAM used in cities).
However in a 32bit machine with 3GB of RAM available, there must be room for the OS, drivers, the game + mods and that will certainly be a fight for resources.
IF you've got a 64bit system then at least have 6GB of RAM, so even if you run a program that can only address ~3GB then there's still room for the system (OS) to juggle resources.
While still experimental, ETS2 (Steam version at least) even has a launch option for 64bit systems ( "-64bit" ), in theory negating such issues and when loading up jobmarket it does appear smoother and faster. MMV. The 32bit game itself IIRC has been patched to be able to address more than 3GB.
Happy trucking. :)
Thanks. I appreciate the input.
I would expect more RAM usage in the cities during the daytime because there's more AI.
In a bid to "calm the waters" I fired all drivers but 1, sold all trucks but 3 (1 for my hired driver and 2 for me), sold all my garages but 2 (1 for my base, and 1 for my hired driver) and running the -64bit game seems to be appreciably smoother.. except for autosave_drive (grrrr) but that's a work in progress.
Cheers :)
<- passing side ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: suicide ->
i would like to do Ireland Spain Italy first then ill travel Italy and then East if any mods can make that possible? i have only vanilla maps right now.
Also if i add a map mod now will the save continue to work when the map mod updates itself or will a new game be required?
