Going East worth it?
So, I'm thinking of picking this game up today, and I'm curious about whether Going East is worth 10 extra dollars. I see that it adds a few extra countries, but is that really a substantial addition to the game, or just more places to drive through?

I mean, I tried this at a friend's, and it seemed like the base game had more than enough countryside to drive through. Then again, I only wandered through the UK, so I didn't see if there were big differences between different countries to justify the price.

You can see there how much map is added

Worth 10$ ? Yeeaaah, kinda. It's a real improvement for the scenaries, a small one for the roads but that's just it, no more trucks or more trailer, just roads and towns.

More than enough ? Yeeaaah, kinda not. Even though a 1000kms trip may take over 4 hours IRL, since it's always the same roads / towns / countries, it may became sad after a while. Some people would never add any mods but I couldn't have played as long without them.

One interesting thing though, is to see how the devs transposed an IRL object into the game and drive there to see it.

It goes on sale a ton, so just wait and grab it when it's 50% or more off!

That's actually a good idea. I'll probably just do that. I saw it on sale during the winter sale, which is actually what got me looking into it, but I didn't pick it up in time.

Going East adds more value than any other DLC. Scandinavia DLC coming out soon so I bet it will be on sale again then.

Then there's France/Spain/Portugal, I hope, followed by Southern Europe...please please pretty please. Then Europe will be complete and we will be able to deliver Greek olives all the way to Helsinki! What a drive that will be!

I believe the more route you have to drive, the better the overall experiance.

I did not buy Going east when it was first released, but I don't regret buying it a bit. Especially since I purchased it on sale.

It's worth. Buying the DLC grants you access to a lot more road than the base game, and having allows you to install the TruckSim map mod, which adds literally hundreds more cities, and spreads all the way down to Nothern Africa.

Hundreds of additional cities? That's totally wrong. It adds maybe 50-75 cities.

the russian map works with promods and tsm and you need going east to make the connection to those maps otherwise you will come to barriers which you will be unable to pass. Is it worth it are 15 more cities in russia worth it your damn right have fun Happy Trucking!

With the added roads, does that mean deliveries get longer too? Are there multi-day deliveries instead of just two day trips?

Yes there are longer deliveries.

And incuding rest stops, you can get three day deliveries, from one side of Europe to the other. Aberdeen to Debrecen for example.

I hope they give the UK a makeover at some point. Use it as a reason to perhaps add container stations beside railways, at the docks and airport. I'd like some additional cities like Bristol and Leeds, maybe York.

He meant with TSM installed which goes to Northern Africa and adds the main roads and cities of Europe.
