Is Scandinavia worth it?
I picked up Going East and found it just to be a lot more boring roads to drive on.. it did not really look like poland or Hungry just.. like England.. it felt like the UK in the game with a few different road laws and that's it..

So is this the same exact thing or should I rush out and buy it? lol

One thing I'm interested to know is have they finally added Mountainous regions? I like the idea of driving on tight bendy roads 1000ft drop to my right.. lol

If you want my own personal opinion, I'd say it's not worth it. The DLC nearly matches the cost of the original game. If you were giving that price, I'd expect a DLC of the same sized map as the original game offered. I understand that ETS2 is now known and Scandinavia is so "cannot wait" DLC so it was so overhyped. I'm saying that the DLC is not worth it's price, looking at what's added.

That's just my opinion, I see many purchased the DLC and are happy with it which is great.

I'd say its so far the best expension for ETS2, at last you dont just deliver between transport companies but also deliver malls, stores, etc. A shame those kind of deliveries aren't available in the rest of the map.
hotels and buildings also have different graphics that actually are better suited I think. In addition you have gas stations in cities (something that lack on the rest of the maps) and drives on suspended bridges.

Saddly I haven't drove on hard mountain roads (try scania truck driving simulator for those), definitively something I'd want to see to.

my opinion if you had to choose between both extension, forget going east and take scandinavia.

I think certainly it is worth the money, but I also live in Denmark so it may as well make it more valuable to me than others. Now that I can run to my own country, that way the game comes more real. But that's my opinion and others may have theirs, the price, I think is reasonable when you look at that it took over half a year to do it.

But judge for yourself you can of course use promod if you use mods. Just keep in mind that a DLC should not be updated each time a new expansion comes out for the game and at the same time you are supporting SCS for the great work they do to make ETS2 better and better. But the choice is entirely yours.

If you think it's too costly, just wait for the inevitable sale. Shrug.

I didn't say I wasn't waiting. OP asked whether you think it's worth it, I answered.

I meant the generic "you", not "you" personally.

I bought it and enjoyed it but a $10 price point would have been more apt for a 20% addition to the map. It does look great and has more and challenging delivery points but one needs to consider that it's basically only 60% of the Promods map which is free.

I'm worried that it's going to be like Going east... if that was a mod it'd probably have a 2 star rating and be dropped to the bottom of the modslist in no time..
My two cents: I think Scandinavia is worth it, even at the price point it's currently at. If you're worried it's like Going East (i.e., looks like the rest of the map), I can tell you that it isn't. Scandinavia has a ton of new features - new house models, better scenery, re-skinned companies, different icons on the maps (e.g., for garages, gas stations, etc.), redesigned road signs (slight, but noticeable), and some AWESOME new road designs. The junctions and interchanges in Scandinavia are nothing like the simplified junctions contained elsewhere, and are complicated in the best sense of the term.

Also, there are a bunch of new ferry stations, so if you enjoy traveling by ferry, you have that to look forward to; new cargo (e.g., cattle, Volvo cars, construction parts); and a bunch of new territory to explore.

Yes, the DLC is expensive, but it's clear - based on the look of the DLC and all the features I've just mentioned - that SCS put a ton of work into this, and I'm happy to support that effort (and hopefully fund/encourage the next DLC) with a higher-than-expected price.

I'd say it's definitely worth it. I love it so much. I understand the fact it's pricey, but it is definitely worth the price as I already told ya. Honestly, could be even the best DLC for ETS2.
The most beautiful areas of the game are included in this DLC. But that's just my opinion, and I'm pretty sure there are many others out there who agree with me.
Also, forgot to mention that I live in Finland, so that may be one of the reasons I like this DLC so much. Just gonna say, if you play ETS2 very much, then buy this.

I'm just going to own the whole of Europe (I own everything map-wise released) , cause I love everything that is ETS2. Only The Witcher 3, fallout4 do I own the full DLC for. Variety is the spice of truck driving :steammocking:
