Thank you :)
Try this one as well.
1) Unplug your wheel
2) Install the software
3) Open profiler

4) Connect wheel to pc
You should get this
http://imgur.com/sf5dxux
Then setup as per the guide .
Wheel unplugged - Installed software - But couldn't open the Logitech Profiler because it did not appear in the Taskbar.
Went ahead and connected the wheel to the PC anyway and it appeared in Device Manager as a HID-compliant game controller with an assigned MS device driver. There was still no appearance of the Logitech Profiler in the Taskbar.
Went through the process several times just to be sure and even tried several of the 11 USB ports on the back and top of this 2 month old killer rig.
Bottom line is I still cannot config my G27, because the Logitech Profiler will not make its appearance for some reason. Logitech troubleshooting is WAY out of date and some links it even refers to can no longer be found or displayed. I am at a loss as to what should be done next.
1) Uninstall the MS-driver for it, through Device Manager
2) Unplug the wheel after
*edit: 2b) You may want to restart the PC at this point
3) Start the LGS installer, run as admin
4) During the installation, it *should* at one point ask you to connect the wheel, and then recognize it (if it doesn't do this, then I dunno what's going on, probably a Win8 issue)
*edit2: Note: plug your wheel into a USB 2.0-port, not 3.0. Some people have had issues, when connecting to 3.0
5) After that's done and the install is finished, you can start the Profiler from where you installed it, if it doesn't show up in the taskbar automatically (C:\Program Files\Logitech\Gaming Software\LWEMon.exe by default)
It may be a Win8 problem (have hated every version of Windows since Win95). Even did a Search for the default file in #5 and found it doesn't exist anywhere in C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files (x86) or anywhere else on the computer. So the actual blame may simply be a failure of the Logitech software to install itself. Why? Haven't got a clue. Unfortunately it also appears Logitech will be of no help either. IIRC the last posted "help" for this problem on their website is dated 2013 and pretty much mirrors the steps we've been talking about here.
Think I'm going to take a deep breath, stop banging my head on the keyboard, think this thru after my head clears, then have at it again. Any further help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm a retired OTR big rig driver and want to hit the road again!
1) When you're trying to install it, are you logged in with an account that has 'administrative priviledges' or just as a 'regular user', and in any case, 1b) are you sure you ran the Logitech-installer 'as admin' (through the right-click menu)?
2) What sort of Antivirus/Security software, if any, are you running and have you made sure they're not blocking the installer in any way?
*edit: and on a bit of a stretch: 3) are you *absolutely* sure you got the right version of LGS from the Logitech-site? Meaning, in your case, the 64-bit version. (the file you downloaded should be called "lgs510_x64.exe")
Stuff I know will fudge it is USB 3.0 ports . Wheels fine on USB 2.0 but on 3 it has a dicky fit on mine and refuses to work .
I ask because Logitech web site is confusing in this regard.
The profiler you want is one specific to the Game Wheels and dates from 2010.
The one most people think is the Profiler is the one for all other Logitech devices,
keyboards, mice, other Logitech Controllers (keypad for example) NOT the wheel!
Be sure you have the right one. Easist way I recall is going to the wheel section
and follow links from there.
You want logitech Profiler version 5.10.127
and actually it is dated 6/14/2010
That is the latest version of the correct profiler/driver for Windows PC'
NOt the newer 8.x version.
Otherwise you are using the wrong profiler. I have to run both on my system as I have
other Logitech devices besides the G27 wheel.
Despite its age it works fine here on Win7 64 bit and I gather from others still does
in Windows 8.x . No idea what will happen in Win 10.
Oh, I thought I'd mention this too, I manage to run all my devices via a USB 2.0
hub, but it is a powered hub. Belkin brand with 7 outputs.
Almost all my game related hardware is using that HUB, Knock on wood I have no
issues.
Powered hub not passive!

Best news of all is the problem is solved, and the mistake was so simple and stupid!
Clue to the solution was your #3 "stretch". I had saved the download rather than just run it off the site, and you were right, I had the wrong version. When choosing the file I saw the Win logo and "OS window" but changed it to the 64-bit file choice BEFORE the OS version, and doing it "backwards" I didn't notice it defaulted the file back to the 32-bit version. Doh!
Thank you once again for your time and patience. I'll be a happy camper once I configure the G27 with my newly installed Profiler. I'm American Rider and I'm southbound and down.......
