Second it don't cost that much, so if you want it buy it as the rest of us did. The money you pay for all help SCS to make even better things for us in the future, think about it that way nobody works for free.
I see your point, but you also have to look at it this one day can be many days, first kids day then fathers day and mothers day just to start with and the list can go on and on. as i see it you don't go down in the local gameshop and get a free game becouse it's some day of something why should they do it here then.
that's also a way to see it, i am 48 years old and would call myself an adult. And i don't mind to pay for my games or the updates to for that matter i got all the updates so far and i will get what they release in the future too, if i can afford it.
And the way I see it why should kids have free games becouse they don't have work what is fair enogh they go in school instede. But what about adults there can't afford it becouse they don't have a job, shall we give them one too, and then SCS don't make any money and we don't get anything. SCS does a great job why can they not get payed for there work, just becose they work on games. to kids or who ever play them. I mean if a kid want a some toy in the Toystore you pay for it, thats the way it is and should be. Sorry but we live in a world where money talks.
Just because it is a holiday does not mean you are entitled to free DLC. The pain job packs are cheap, you can even wait for a sale and get them even cheaper.
They give you free trucks when they make new ones, they could esaily make them DLC but they don't.
This is exactly what I also believe, but kids these days think money grows on trees, and parents have enough of them, and is there anything they can not get because of their parents can not give it to them or will. Yes it must be free ofcause. No, I do not think they have to save up some all of us, most kids today get pocket money. So I do not buy it, with that you can not save up for it
ETS2 isnt an average "game" it actually takes some element of skill and patience to play this, and to a younger market, it may not appeal to them (im 23 now but have loved truck games from the age of 16) so im not being one sided.
everyone has a different taste in gaming, and the ETS2 community i have found to be very mature and not many of the younger generation play it, it has real physics and accountability to be considered a "stick it on to entertain the kids" game.
just my opinion on the matter.
No DLC shouldnt be free,
not very long ago the DLC's and game itself where down to mere pennies,
i picked up ETS at around £10
a week later my friend got it for about £5 on steams deals...... Not to mention the DLC was like £2-4 (which i took advantage of) so no, i dont think free is the way froward, the game is very reasonably priced at full price and if you hang around enough, the same deal might come round again...

Childrens day is quite popular in many countries world -wide mate (but celebrated on diff dates, as far as i recall). Not sure why you never heard of it. Are you British by any chance? I find that most of my family who never really travelled/lived abroad have no clue about it (and many others) either. For your consideration:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children's_Day
OP The Brazilian childrens day was on the 12th, so its come and gone im afraid.
base on that logic why even bother to give away dlc
scs is adding a lot of updates for free and the dlcs are reasonabily price.Heck if u look at some skin dlcs like those in killing floor
your idea does not commerate children's day.In no ways does giving dlc help childrens well being or promote.I would rather have a children them dlc for somekind of charity that mainly focus on the wellbeing of children.
If we in Croatia have money to buy DLC's then nobody souldn't complain about the money. One DLC costs about 1 Euro (that's only one coffie)
