Disable in-game wheel?

Is there a way to disable in-game steering wheel? Why do I want to disable it? I have my own one right in front of me, don't need another one in-game, and it often confuses and lags behind.

I believe it has to be done via a developer console command. The dev console will need enabling in your config file first.
Still hunting for the command myself!

open your console, and write r_steering_wheel 0 - it will disappear. To show it again, r_steering_wheel 1

The command to add to the config.cfg file is actually:

uset r_steering_wheel "0"

or

uset r_steering_wheel "1"

yeah, but in console it is enought to write r_steering_wheel I guess... in config you need to add uset at the begining

Now that the steering wheel is a separate model, someone should be able to make a mod to remove it easily.

I discovered this by accident when I installed an older interior mod after the "adjustable wheel" update. And when I selected some of the steering wheels, it was removed. And without any strange 3d object problem. It looked nice and clean.

Yes, this is the one who actually works. And looks amazing in the Volvo FH16, because you can adjust the seat all way close to the panel, and even using a 100% scale, it looks perfect, and with a well positioned screen/G27 setup, it's awesome driving. I need to see the other trucks, how they look now. Many thanks, Xyzan!

Windows: go to: C:/Users/[username]/Documents/Euro Truck Simulator
2/profiles/[Profile name]/config.cfg then find uset r_steering_wheel "““1””" and set the 1 to 0

Mac: go to: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles/[Profile]/config.cfg then find uset r_steering_wheel "““1””" and set the 1 to 0

If you want to disable "steering wheel" view in the folder, it's in the "config_local" file, so, change the value from "1" to "0". Documents>Euro Truck Simulator>profiles>(folder)>config_local>uset r_steering_wheel "0" .

But this involves setting to 780 degrees, which is kind of a waste of 900 degree wheel.

Not sure where you get the 780 from but i have my g27 set to 900 in logitech profiler and linearity to the left in game and mine works in sync with the game.

if you'd have noticed the date you would have seen that that was from 2014. back then the ingame steering wheel animation was set to 780 degrees so people matched that with their wheels so it was 1:1. scs later changed it to 900 degrees
