AFAIK there is no way to adjust the sensitivity on keyboard controls. It's analog, on/off.

Microsoft demonstrated a pressure-sensitive keyboard back in 2009, but it didn't catch on.

I use WASD. To steer smooth you just tap the keys. The steering sensitivity must not be too high to achieve this. Leave everything as default, they're adjusted for keyboard use already.

Some keyboards work better than others. My laptop is perfect but I had to turn the sensitivity down on my desktop keyboard to make it work better at high speeds. It makes turning quickly in cities a challenge but at least I'm not weaving like a maniac at 90km/h.

Yep. Me too.
The only tricksy bit with mouse/kb combo is that when 'mouse looking', you have no control over steering until you release the 'mouse-look' key. If one is dexterous enough, it can be done with a minimum of bent metal and broken glass, but takes a bit of practice.
