Custom Trucks
Can anyone help me, every time I install a custom truck the game starts to stutter, i.e. the stearing, driving, other traffic all start to become jerky. Is there a good site that has good downloads or is it just hit and miss. Only cure i have found is to reinstall graphics drivers and uninstall trucks.
Am running all at full spec on an I7 processer 6GB ram and a GTX560M graphics card.

http://ets2downloads.com/ , http://ets2mods.org/ , http://ets2.lt/en/ These are the only sites I know of. I run the Pete 389, KW T660, T800 and the Internationational 9300 Eagle. Only thing I can think of is, check the responses from other players about each truck before DL. I do get some jerky movement, but I'm pretty sure a lot of that is due to all the new content from latest updates. Aside from that, maybe someone else has better idea. all I have is the graphics that came with the PC, nothing fancy like GTX or NVidia and for the most part I can run anything on here.

Hi,

I will catch this thread for a beginner question:

I downloaded a Custom Truck : Mercedes Concept MD2

I do have two folders named : /def and /trucks

Where to put them? Straight into the /mod folder?

Thx in advance and keep trucking :-)

rsmith, the only main trusted site you could get mods from is SCS' Forum itself. The only other one I'd probably look at is http://ets2addons.com/ at this point. Any other site is a potential hit or miss.

fanta5, if you have a .scs file, you drop that in the mod folder and enable it in your profile. You don't extract it.

Odd that is just the two folders. Likely you can just rename the rar/zip/whatever to .scs (if you have file extensions showing), otherwise, you can extract, rezip it and use the "Store" method of compression (which is no compression), and change the .zip, .rar, or whatever program you use to .scs.

I do know the game can support compressed files now, but I don't recall the level in which the game will read, so I still use Store for a couple of my projects.
