Crashes when starting new jobs or traveling on boat
There seems to be a lot of different reasons for game crashes here, but mine almost always crashes when I start a new job (after completing another one) or when I get on a boat to travel somewhere. I don't think I have the multiplayer thing installed, and the demo ran fine without crashes; it's just happening on the full version. Please help?
Here is my crash log...

Few questions.

Are you running any mods?

Are you running the most upto date version of ETS?

Do you have the latest version of your video drivers installed?

When you launch, are you just launching ETS or are you doing Direct X or OpenGL?

Have you tried either varifying game files or reinstalling?

No mods. Just installed yesterday. Launching directly. Video driver is up-to-date.

As an update, though, starting in safe mode seems to be helping the problem so far, in case anyone else has experienced this particular type of consistent crash.

I would try to verify the files, go to the library and right click ETS2 and go to properties. Select the Local Files tab and hit the verify button, if this doesn't work you could try a clean install of the game. I would make a quick backup of your Documents / ETS2 folder so you don't lose a save by accident. Aside from that you may have to visit http://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=3 and search and or post in the bugs section.

Good luck in getting the problem solved. :)

Thanks, Knagar! :)

Most likely he was running in openGL mode on Windows.
OpenGL for this game is intended for Linux users.
Proper mode for windows users is DirectX.

Opposed to what the OP implied in the first post this game is not 'crashy'. Extremely rare
for one to see reports of crashing in this game by users , that I ever saw in my 4 months or so
of hanging on these forums and at SCS forum site.

Just saying .

I'll not dicker but I got to retort on one item I saw above.

THe reason I never tried TSM ore even considered it for a long while was due to comments
like this:
":OH, TSM is just copy n paste crap, Promods is far better quality."

So I ignored TSMap. Once I tried it myself I did NOT notice a abundence of 'copy n paste'.
That is the 'hate' I am refering to. After I tried it, I determined quite otherwise. But, that is me.

IN fact I found refereshing new stuff in many cities you just don't see in the other mod, or base game. Differ terrain than you constantly see in both Promods and base game in both Spain and Greece in particular.

Nothern Africa is of course a dulll 'copy n paste ' as it is a freaking desert. I just don't drive there after I visited once.

Just to be clear to anyone trying these.
Do NOT mix Promods with TSMap, it will not work. Use seperate profiles or be sure you
understand how to use the same profile but with a clean save (have a safe rollback save you keep for 'branching')

You can mix RusMap with Promods
You can mix RusMap with TSMap

There are other safe mixes and that was detailed some weeks ago or so in a fantastic
thread that should have been made a sticky by the moderator. Sadly, I don't have the link handy.

Uhh, posted in wrong discussion? lol

Seems that way. Uzi's second post there doesn't seem to have anything to do with this discussion thread, lol.
Btw, I'm not launching in either DirectX or OpenGL. Just launching normally. And I'm a girl, not a "he".

what are your system specs Peach? And try launching in DirectX and see what happens?
You can also use Poland Rebuilding with Promods and RusMap.

ok Peach, after looking at your crash log I think you are running out of memory. Do you have your windows page file set to a specific size? Or do you let windows manage the size?
Peach Jelly Oct 2, 2014 @ 10:55am
I'm running Windows off of Bootcamp. I have about 20GB left on this partition.
OriginalGrubby Oct 2, 2014 @ 11:16am
How much RAM do you have?
margalus Oct 2, 2014 @ 11:16am
sorry, since it's a mac running windows I am lost. All I can say it that it appears to be a memory issue of some sort. The crash log is saying that your virtual memory is only 2GB, which is low. I was grasping at straws and am now lost. I don't know how bootcamp works at all.

good luck

according to crash log, 2 gb, but only 2gb virtual also. When it crashes it's down in the 300k range for both physical and virtual. the virtual should expand when it needs.
