Engine troube linked to overall damage percentage?
I had some reasonable damage after a bad trip and my engine was stalling A LOT so i took it in to get repaired, i didnt have enough to repair everything so i left the body and the tires.

but because the body was so damaged the over all was still about 20% and despite the engine and the all the other mechanical part being fully repaired it still stalled a fair bit.

is there a way i can change it so the engine troubles are linked to only engine damage?
i feel the way it is now is unrealistic. body damage should cause aerodynamic issues and handling issues not make my engine break down every hour (in game hour not real life hour)

Anything above 10% damage and you will have engine trouble.

i know that, but its linked to over all damage not engine and transmision damage, the cosmetic damage to the truck and tire wear are enough to cause engine trouble but they shouldnt, there should be no correlation bettween the 2
I think that the simulation may also be including electronics, hydraulics, and wiring in the category of body damage. Maybe in a future release ETS will provide more detailed information and graphical presentation on damages.

hopefully, because it was really annoying.

cosmetic damage (chassis damage) can throw the engine and transmission out of alignment. so yes thier is correlation between them

really? never heard that before.

they need to upgrade the damage system.

In the real world If you damage the body you may damage the mounts the engine is attaced to and if so may cause more issue than you would like to know. My unkkle drove a Kentworth back in the 70's and had a minor fender bender with a drunk driver. Broke off a bolt on his mount and he had more issue with his engine than he need to have. After the bolt was fix all was good again. Go figure.

when you put it like that, that makes a lot of sence, the engine not being mounted right can cause a lot of trouble especially with a heavy high torque motor.

IIRC breaking value for damaged parts if 15%, unless your parts damaged less, you shouldn't have issues.
But chassis and cab are not damaged during ordinary driving, if they are damaged - you either scraped something with your trailer/tractor, or bumped into something. Stop doing that, visit service every 5000 km (7500 km is the point when your tires will be damaged to 15%, causing slowdown), and you'll be fine.

yea the damage i got was doing a u turn way to quick in the dark in the mines and hitting face first into a wall, and before that i had gotten distracted by others in the room and lost a game of chicken with the worlds strongest hede, after those 2 i had about 48% damage, bit only enough to fix the mechanics, the body on its own was the most expensive and was about $4800 and i didnt quite have enough to cover it.

but alls fixed now, my driving is slowly getting better tho.

I repair my truck every 3-4 runs depending on length and never let it go over 10%.
