Best set up for casual?

i play on steam deck and controller.. currently setting to automatic. is this how most ppl play the game? thanks

I can't tell how most people play the game. Maybe there are some steam-statistics for it.
I am on PC, with a wheel and sequential/manual shifting.

Some use wheels and H-shifters, some controllers, some mouse and keyboard.
Some play on an old notebook, some on a highend PC with utlrawide or triple monitors.
Some play with VR, eye-tracker, etc.
The more you add for realism the more "realism" you will get.

Afaik, modern trucks often use automatic. So that's not unrealistic.
If you can enjoy the game with your setup, everything is fine.
There is no wrong or right.

I play on steam deck as well, but I originally played on PC with a controller and both times I used simple automatic.

It isn't really important how most people play the game. What is important is that you are playing in the way you are most comfortable with.

I agree that it doesn't matter which device and setup you use to play this or any other game. But if you ask me if it is worth buying a steering wheel, pedals, VRs, cockpit and all these things to play a driving/racing sim or this play alone, I'd say hell yeah, it's a completely different experience.
