Question regarding performance of the game (1.53 @ latest)
Hi guys, I have some question regarding the performance of the game, because I don’t understand some things.

My PC specs.:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB
RAM: 2x16GB (32GB) 3200 mHz
OS: Windows 11 (latest)
(Game runs on SSD)

In game graphics settings are these:

When I’m driving in the new Greece DLC I’m experiencing that my FPS drops below 60 or below 50, but I don’t understand the reason why, because when this happens my GPU usage is between 50-70%. There are other parts and even cities which are running with 60 or more FPS with the same GPU usage. The game eats between 4800-5000MB of my VRAM and 15 GB used of 32 GB RAM with Windows and other applications. In the other hand my CPU usage never goes up more than 25-30%. I’m currently using 200% scaling with 1920x1080 resolution, but tried to reduce it to 100% scaling, but this issue also happening, but with less GPU usage value. In my point of view my PC should run this game with stable 60 or more FPS and without issues with these hardwares and graphics settings. Other games like GTA V, The Crew: Motorfest, Need for Speed: Heat, CS2, Rocket League and Bus Simulator: Next Stop runs with more than 60 FPS for me, never got less than it.

I can’t belive that I need to upgrade my GPU and buy a new one which is almost cost more than a 10 year used car.

Any suggestions or tips? Thanks for your time reading this, thanks for all comments in advance. Keep trucking!

The game is using only one core at the moment. Buying a new GPU won’t help you. Upgrading your CPU might.
SCS needs to implement and release multi core support and optimize the game further. They are working on it but when it will reach us truckers are unknown.

Thanks for your comment. I think you are right, I have to wait for the optimalization.

This game can run in stabe 60FPS without issues, no matter what others want to tell you.
I'd recommend reducing your settings to medium as your GPU is basically on par with a 2060 Super.
If you changed the g_traffic value, reset it back to its default value.
If you use mods, sell all your modded parts and deactivate your mods. Yes, mods can impact the performance.

Since I’m the only one before you who have answered OP - “others” would be me. Have I stated that the game cannot run stable at 60fps? No I haven’t. And since you have blocked me your statement once again makes no sense what so ever.
The game can run perfectly stable at 60fps if you have the hardware for it and/or choose the correct settings, adjust choice of mods and so on. It can even run stable at 120fps. Your point being?

Also, since I am now on my PC and can see the screenshots better:
Did you limit your FPS to 60 via an external programm?
Also, what are your hardware temps and how many monitors do you play the game on?

"15 GB used of 32 GB RAM with Windows and other applications"

This sounds a bit too much. I wonder what these "other applications" are.
Maybe give it a try without any "other applications".

Can you post your game.log here? (use pastebin.com)

Thanks for your comment, I going to give it a try, but still don't understand the reason why I get FPS drops ONLY at Greece at different areas despite of the fact that my GPU usage isn't near 80 or 90%, sometimes between 40%-60% when the FPS drops. In cities like Athen I've got the stable FPS with these settings that I mentioned above.

No any FPS limitations. There are areas which are run with more than 60 FPS, even more than 80. My CPU temperatures between 50-55 degrees and the GPU temperature between 60-66 degrees. I'm using a 170Hz gaming FullHD monitor via display port. I'm not using FreeSync or any other options.

The other applications which are running while ETS2:
- Wallpaper Engine
- McAfee
- Logitech Gaming Software
- Windows Defender
- AMD Adrenalin Software
- sometimes Microsoft Edge because of YouTube Music

Can you please try and reproduce it on a vanilla profile (no mods ever in it)? You have quite some mods so they can affect performance.

These are the mods which are activated:

Waze Navigation - Dark Mode
Waze Navigation
Radar Detector Hungarian Version (I made this addon for my self, just changed the voice files from english to hungarian ones)
Radar Detector FIX
Radar Detector v2.1.0
International Traffic Pack - Vanilla Edition
Extended Traffic Light Timing
SiSL's Mega Pack - Customization
SiSL's Mega Pack
Interior Addon by Wolli
Signs on your Truck and Trailer
Realistic Rain v5.0
Reefer trailer sound addon for ETS2
Sound Fixes Pack v25.01 - ETS2

Realistic Vehicle Lights Mod v7.4 for ETS2 (by Frkn64)
Realistic Truck Physics Mod v.9.0.8 for ETS2 - by Frkn64

I tried with vanilla profile as well and it's still happening. Only at Greece.

You already point out your issue, you just don't realize it. Forum search would have showed you one or two threads covering the very same complaint about "have to wait for optimization".

Sort your mods out, and have a look there: https://www.pcworld.com/article/1955495/pc-bottlenecks-cpu-or-cpu-limiting-gaming-performance.html

SCS can't optimize this for you, no matter if your hardware or your mods are causing this. ;-)

Thanks for your comment and time for giving me the link. Actually I tried to disable all of my mods, but the issue also there. Tried with a brand new vanilla profile as well, but the same happening. I'm going to upgrade my CPU to Ryzen 5 5600X in the near future.

I feel, things are different on my system, cpu usage is more than one core.
Windows 11 2H24 will help a lot with AMD CPU performance - check windows version first. Maybe update is waiting ;)
Make sure You have updated drivers (MB and GPU).

I have R7 5800X3D and RTX 3070 - all paired with 3x monitor setup (triple FHD 5760x1080)....
Settings are maxed out with 200% scaling, and only problem with performance is graphic card. This is why i capped game to 60FPS - frame drops are very rare. And is more pleasent experience...

What to check next:

Download any "performance monitor" like MSI Burner, or HwInfo turn on OSD or loging, and check - is Your graphic work close to 100% - it is slow graphic. If not - this is CPU bottleneck.

Or just simple - switch scaling down - for under 100% - if still strugling - this may be CPU bottleneck. But this is not ideal tool ;)

I don't see that will resolve the issue. I'm running Windows 10 on a Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX4060 and only 16Gb DDR5 RAM at the moment. My RAM usage rarely goes above 80% & GPU usage never gets above about 75% and I'm not getting ANY fps drops in ETS 2. You must have something else going on in the background.

I do, however, have fps issues with ATS on a vanilla profile....
