ProMods and other mod expansions

I have never downloaded any map mods, so I'm completely clueless. I'm thinking to download promods, but I sometimes play with friends who don't have all the dlc, so the question arises, is it possible to disable promods or maybe (I'm sure not, but i will write it anyway) the convoy will work in a similar way as with missing dlc from a friend? If I can disable the mod, what will happen to the road exploration from scs that were replaced in promods and after disabling it returned to the map? And what happens to the promods roads that I explored earlier, but disabled the mod and then enabled again?

I know I can just create a second profile. But if i can't disable promods or progress resets every time, I'd rather explore the scs map with friends first and then resort to this method if they haven't bought the remaining dlc by then

For Convoy, all players in the session must have the DLCs required by ProMods.

The progress of roads explored in ProMods is always saved in your profile, unless the explored roads get changed of course

Rule number 1 with mods: Do not remove a map mod unless you want problems. Use a separate profile for ProMods map mod especially. It modifies way too much of your save data to remove on a whim.

ProMods is not an optional mod so would not allow you to play with friends that don't have it. Removing it for just the session would be a bad idea. I've had good luck with disabling it for TruckersMP specifically, but that's mainly because TruckersMP manages it for me. Convoy on the other hand doesn't do anything like that.

I tried ProMods and RusMap as the most probably popular mod maps and realized that I'd rather wait for the rework of the Britain, Nordic Horizons and Heart of Russia DLCs from SCS xD
