4k 400% scaling
Can anyone see a difference between running the game at 4k 100% and 400% scaling? Just wondering if its worth sacrificing the performance for the visual benefits if there are any

I doubt there is anything you gain with that. You will just stress your GPU a ton (400% scaling means that every frame is calculated at 4 times the resolution and then scaled down).

For me, no. I run at 200% with a mix of high and med settings and get between 50-80fps. I have it capped at 80 (as for me it still looks good) and it generally stays around there.
One thing I have noticed and that is difference between the old and new.
In UK it is locked at 80fps but in Iberia, Italy and Baltic it tends to hover around 50-60fps
which is fine as it still looks good (IMO) but, more importantly, no jitters even when auto save kicks in or trundling round cities.
Will post a screeenie when I sorted out a couple of cab accessories wink, wink.

Personally found that 400% almost entirely eliminates aliasing and gives the entire scene a more realistic and crisp look (though in motion, you're far less likely to notice so 200% seems like a solid middle ground to save a few frames)
I'd personally suggest turning off the in-game AA and DOF too as the former softens the image too much and latter feels a little redundant once your moving as you'll find your RL focus will naturally do this for you (Plus extra clarity and a slight performance bump to boot!)

1080p @ 400% scaling is same resolution as 2160p @ 100% scaling

It will work as excellent quality AA as someone else mentioned, do it if your GPU can handle it.
Are you guys recommending 400% scaling at 4k or 1080p?

hey i notice the difference. me with 1080p and 400% makes pixelated edges go away just having 30 fps.i dont like it when i can see that a edge in the distance and nearby is ugly (does SCS use LOD? would be a good idea)

If you have an Nvidia card that can do DLDSR, or an AMD card with similar tech. Also look for ETS2 in the GPU's control panel for extra settings. Then in game turn set the scaling to 200% or so, and it can do wonders to how your screen looks. Any more than 300% can be overkill, more so if you have a 1440p or higher monitor.

As said above, if your GPU can handle it, do it. After getting 3050 recently, I did some meddling with the settings and eventually found that it can handle 400% scaling, if I turn off SMAA, SSAO and DOF and IMO it still looks better than with all three on, but scaling on 200%.

I have a Lenovo Gaming Laptop with a GTX2070 Max-Q card...it's about equal to a 1600 series desktop GPU...recently I have upgraded to Windows 11 and I am able to run 400% scaling on my Vanilla profile with no mods ever used.

My laptop display is 1080P @ 144hz and ETS2 and ATS look really crisp and sharp. I am getting 72FPS across the map with the occasional minor frame drops in some areas.
Strangely...before I was only able to run 200% scaling but I find now 400% is no problem
with no mods being used.

400% scaling is a must for me, otherwise the game won't look good.
I have a 4K 120Hz 55inch TV as a monitor and so ETS2 also runs at 4K,
And an Asus ROG Strix 4090 OC powers this TV just fine.
Have everything set to max.
AA and DOF and SSAO SMAA all those things disabled. They don't really do anything, they don't add anything.

what GPU do you use?

Well, nothing beats rendering at higher resolution quality wise.

Nothing beats both at the same time :)
