***SOLVED SEE POST BELOW*** upgrade to rtx5070 and only get 60hz refresh rate in triple screen what am i missing please ?
after 18 months happy triple screening on my rtx2060 at 120hz refresh rate I had to upgrade as felt laptops strain as screen freeze with game still running behind was more frequent however on my rtx5070 when i get to the "surround configuration" screen it shows 2 monitors and a refresh rate of 180hz and then I add the third monitor and the refresh rate drops to 60hz with 59hz also available.....due to my usb c port not working i have 1 monitor into a hdmi socket and the other 2 into separate different display port sockets...is that where the fault is that you have to use 3 different types of ports ? . one monitor is 144hz and the other 2 180hz..thanks for any advice

Hi!
USB C port is not used for imaging or mirroring at all im afraid.
If you are finding that your USB C is not working you will need to disable this from the BIOS (Basic in/out service)
Having multiple monitors will automatically reduce the refresh rate due to your graphics card not being able to detect whats your primary. You can change this under your Nvidia settings and will show 1-2-3 etc and under 1 you should be able to increase it refresh rate and make the monitor you use the most as your primary and keep your offset monitors on low.. If your using all 3 monitors to play any games, then keeping it low or balanced refresh across the board will take off the strain with your GPU.
Differant monitors have differant HZ, likewise its best to keep your primary high and your 2 offsets low, but if your keeping all 3 to gaming, its best to match all 3 with the same HZ for example

Primary - 180hz
Offsets - 60 HZ

Primary 100HZ
Secondary 100HZ
Thirdly 100HZ
Thats if your gaming with all 3.

Remember each monitor has max HZ..
I would suggest that you cap your FPS under the Nvidia control panel - manage 3d settings and look for (max frame rate ..Typo and edited..), cap it 2 fps lower to the hz setup your doing..

Example
All 3 monitors are set to 120HZ cap your FPS to 118 fps..

This should help you.
Let us know if you need any help and we will try and help you further.
PS: If you got your 2x 180hz and a 144hz monitor I would set all 3 to 120HZ if your gaming with all 3 and cap your fps to 118. I do apologise if I sound a little confusing, I have a lack of sleep and im not feeling so good. Just having a break and saw your post.

Thanks for taking the time and replying although i'm not sure what you read as it contradicts most of what I told for eg... on my laptop I used for triple screening one of the monitors WAS connected to a USB C port as i only have three ports on the laptop, a hdmi, a thunderbolt port and a USB C port...and for 18 months it worked a treat until the screen freeze's with game running in the background made me think i might be straing it a bit..

in the process of setting up triples I "set up multiple displays" then go to displays and set each one to 120hz then back to "span displays with surround" when you use triple you don't have a "primary display" as all three become 1 but the 120hz refresh rate i was able to do on my rtx2060 does not show only 60hz or 59hz..

My only possible answer was the fact i'm having to use 1 hdmi port and 2 display ports and wondered if that was affecting the ability for 120hz refresh rate as 2 of them are the same type of ports...
Thanks again any inputs appreciated

Extrem long Text with no answer in it.....

@topic if the monitor you connect per hdmi is not hdmi 2.1 then it is only capable of 4k60 (from my experience it means everything over 1080p only gets 60)
PROBLEM SOLVED..."a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing, less is much worse lol" after a call to the service department of chillblast it turns out the three ports (usb-c, hdmi, and display port) on the top left of back of computer didn't actually "not work" they literally are not meant to for connecting to a monitor, the usb-c can be used for something just not a monitor.. new computers without any manual or instructions what has happened to the world..
after a stressful 12 hours or more hours of constant problem surfing, trying to get info about the display port cables to see what the three i have could do which i failed to find out so tried something else, hours surfing about EDID possible problems someone else had and then out of the blue after about the 40th triples screen config I noticed my best monitor was the one that was stuck at 60hz when coupled with another, it seems it did not like a display port cable, nothing wrong with it but it didn't like them but it likes hdmi.....so happy face at last...HOWEVER i never expected a big upgrade to find sections still had pop up tree's and shape shifting mountains..iv'e not heard anyone else mention it so just hoping you are all non complainers and get them but don't moan..on the plus side getting my 120hz has increased my fps from 60 to 75-90 fps ..
..Thanks for all who used some of their trucking time to assist..
p.s a funny thing happened yesterday i altered a few no more then 4 - 6 settings and i was getting 150fps even when ultra high graphics and 300 scaling.... I drove half an hour like that and then on a un-config to use computer for "normal things" it froze...the very first thing i did when i unboxed and turned on was to do a "system restore point" had I not i was screwed here...of course after the restore I was back to 60fps and I can't remember what settings I tweaked and after the last 12 hours of stress i'm just going to stick with my 75-90 fps and tree's and hills moving a bit..unless there is a known solution..please :steamhappy:
