Just wondering is it possible to port over a sound mod from ATS to ETS2 myself?

I have a CAT engine mod in ATS and is probably the best sound mod I've come across and would like to have it in ETS as well.

yes it's possible, don't recall how I did it, but I think you can just copy the files from the truck in ATS to the ETS2 one, look for these two folders and make a mod with them:

def\vehicle\truck\truckbrand.truckmodel\engine
\sound\truck

and check the def files if everything they reference to is there.

Thank you, I'll give this a shot. I would've thought it would be fairly straight forward, just copy paste and rename some files maybe some data in the ini's as well.
I've done it the other way around with a Kriechbaum Scania V8 to a Mack Pinnacle and it looks like I didn't change anything except the brand.model folder name, but it's been a while, and things maybe build up different in other mods.

just copy .bank and bank.guids and check .soundref files of the engine. Renaming bank files will work too most of the time, when you also modify .guids file (open with txt editor). But better not renaming those bank files!

.rm.bank and rm.bank. guids are for remote sound only (when using 3rd person flycam)

Thank you, I'll give this a go. I've got it to the point where I can see the mod in game, can activate it but can't select in game, so assume I need to edit something so the game knows what engine to use for a certain truck.
