Issue with Camera/UI Mirrors – Too Bright During Day, Almost Black at Night

Hi all,

I've been having a persistent issue with the camera mirrors (UI mirrors) in ETS2. During the daytime, the mirrors are sometimes too bright, making it hard to see anything clearly. At night, the problem flips – the mirrors are so dark that not even streetlights appear properly. All I can see are tiny dots where the light sources should be, but no actual lighting or illumination.

I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but the problem still persists. Is anyone else experiencing this, or does anyone have a fix?

I got the same problem on the electronic mirror but it worked fine yesterday

Are you using any mods?

I'm experiencing the same issue, no mods, only Scandinavia and Going East DLC

Same here, problem exists only for cameras and UI.
Regular mirrors work just fine, I wish I could add screenshots.
BTW icons on the ground, like shop, garage, dealer, etc are barely visible as well.
ATS - same thing.

I have exactly the same problem. It makes no difference with and without mods tho.

btw I am using Macbook (M1), not sure if thats the problem, because it works well on windows as I know.

The mirrors worked well after updates tho, it just arised yesterday.

Same, m1 chip, everything was ok until today. Earlier I saw a discussion about the major drop in graphic...well, launched the game just now and I have that issue as well. OMG, so annoying, probably have to google how to backup the game to 1.53

I've got this issue on both ATS and ETS2. I thought it was mods, but even with no mods and reinstalling the whole thing it still happens. A friend just checked theirs and they have it too. We both have Apple Silicon macs.

Same, M1 macbook air, my mirrors the extra ones you can add, are overbright, cannot see anything, busy driving in Italy and Greece DLC, they have gotten worse over time.. way too bright, have a lost of crashes as I just cannot see..

Wednesday 09 April 08:25am, additional report, pulled into a petrol station, the green icon, virtually invisible, I only saw it as I drove past in the left lower wing mirror.. it was very very feint on screen...

It was fine yesterday, 100%, this morning, something is weird..the extra option mirrors, render the game impossible to play as the mirrors are not right..

Nothing has changed with the game itself in that time.

Something had changed, you may dispute my reports but I have no reason to lie, I will upload screenshots later, when I get home...Maybe it only affects macs..Maybe you are using a beta version?

No, I only use the stable non-beta version. But with the game itself, nothing has changed between the release of 1.54 and today.

Regular mirrors work fine, sometimes even the UI mirror works okay during the daytime. But in the mornings and at night, the cameras and UI are a complete nightmare.
I read somewhere on the SCS forum that it has something to do with their new PhysX or whatever it’s called, system, and how it works on Macs
