I use the custom graphics setting. And as I said, I haven't changed anything in the graphics settings. Last week it was still running much better. But since the update this week, I'm either experiencing more reduced FPS (especially due to the lantern lights) or when it's daytime and I have smooth FPS, I get time-slowing stutters. Sometimes it runs more in slow motion, sometimes less, which can also be noticed with the blinker, as it blinks either slower or faster. Since I haven't changed anything in my graphics settings, it can't be due to my graphics settings.
so toy around a bit with graphics settings in game , see what works for you. there is no definitive right or wrong there. just experiment a bit.
Otherwise state your hardware specs as we can neither read your mind nor see your screen.
No, my laptop is not from Apple; I use a regular Windows laptop with an Intel processor and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card.
But I’ll probably still try to write an email to the SCS developers. Until then, I’ll likely have to wait for the next update and hope the problem gets resolved. I know it’s not my laptop, because other games (like Minecraft Dungeons) run perfectly smoothly. It's only with Euro Truck Simulator that I experience performance issues — in the evening or at night, I get noticeably reduced FPS, and during sunny daytime, while the game seems smoother, I instead get fluctuating slow-motion effects. This causes the truck to drive slightly faster or slower at the same speed in km/h, almost like I'm sometimes driving on sticky or slippery roads. Even the turn signals blink at irregular speeds — sometimes too slow, sometimes too fast. These slow-motion fluctuations are frustrating enough to take the fun out of driving.
If it is due to your hardware not being able to play the game in the settings you want then no update will fix this.
My laptop has the following hardware:
CPU: Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1505M v5 @ 2.80GHz, 2808 MHz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
RAM: 32GB DDR4
GPU: Quadro M1000M 2GB VRAM
So, my laptop's graphics card is not the strongest, but as I said, last week I was still able to play Euro Truck Simulator 2 on my laptop with decent performance. However, since this week, I've been experiencing more FPS throttling and more time in slow-motion. I didn’t change anything in the game, I just started playing again and was surprised by the throttled performance.
It can’t be due to drivers either, because I haven’t changed anything with the drivers. And the rest of my games (like Minecraft Dungeons) run just fine on my laptop. This issue unfortunately only affects Euro Truck Simulator 2.
While traveling with 90 or 110 km/h you can literally notice the slowmotion
And i have 45-50 fps so there shouldnt be any slowdowns
You are more than overdue for a hardware upgrade as your hardware wasn't made for gaming but for stuff like CNC.
Yes, exactly, it's the same for me. It's especially bad when I'm driving through tunnels with lights at night, as the performance gets more throttled and I also experience more slow motion. I hope it will be fixed in the next update soon.
Reduce your settings to the lowest possible and get a hardware upgrade soon.
Just saying: The game runs without issues on an i7-11800H, 16GB RAM snd RTX3070 Laptop GPU (130W TDP) on high settings with FPS limited to 60.
i7 6700k
32GB RAM
GTX 1080
This Game is BROKEN!
Doesnt matter what hardware, if it ran fine with 1.53 than the Hardware isnt the issue!
Check your mods and grapic settings.
But since it seems that you aren't open for help, good luck with your problem. Ain't mine.
What do your graphics settings in Euro Truck Simulator 2 look like? Maybe something is turned off in your graphics settings, so the performance throttling doesn't affect you.
